When I was in Frankfurt earlier this year I accidentally into a relatively small protest and they handed me a paper in German that said something about a Great Reset. I always love when conspiracy theorists bring up the internet and digital age as a method for people in power to control the masses.
When in reality the people with power are struggling to even comprehend the impacts that the internet has had on society, and are frankly way over their heads dealing with the rapid change that it has brought to every aspect of people's lives.

The government in the past actually had a much more tangible impact on people's lives - major policy changes were much more frequent. Now the government is stuck in a sort of limbo, due in part to two-party political deadlocks, but more importantly due to everyone doing everything they can to maintain the status quo.

There's some validity to the claims made here about the dangers of surveillance and AI, and how deep the roots go. But fundamentally I disagree with the defeatist conclusion because the system can and does show when it is afraid, and fear means a thing can be defeated.

Their system is far-reaching and powerful, yes, but it relies upon the inflationary ponzi scheme to draw in willing participants with promises of prosperity. When the money inevitably stops flowing, there will be no more rank and file stooges to carry out the system's will.

Also, just need to point out that this whole thead is simply the plot of MGS4. KOJIMAAAAAAAA
