I am hearing from several people that are living in Eastern Europe but earning relatively high burger-tier salaries doing fully remove dev work, around 150k a year. Has anyone on here managed to do this, or know how its done as I am very eager to get in on that shit. It lets you live like a king in a relatively homogenous and peaceful society.

I always thought that these global companies pay salaries at the rates local to the country you live in though. Hence why companies do it. How are people managing to get around that? Are burgers really struggling to find devs in their local stock to the level they will pay Eastern Europeans at mutt wages? Or does it have to be EU countries only?

Done this in Bulgaria about a 7-8 years ago.
Grossed like 70k GBP per month, which meant around $6k/month net (since you asked in USD), barely did any work, and saved $5k+ of that, which I put into BTC.

As for how I did my thing, it was actually a salaried job, where my company "resold me" and they had found a high-paying client. In my particular case, the client was paying 70kGBP so the company was a net loss for me, but I guess the client itself was very reputable and helping them get more work, so it worked out for all of us.

Also, on the subject, you can make more money than what those 70k GBP by either joining toptal or simply working for Uber or Leanplum in Sofia ($10k/month). Nexo actually also pay quite generously, but you get the eventual break in by thugs from the prosecutor's office, so wouldn't recommend. But the average Nexo salary for a senior dev in Plovdiv is 10k bgn, in Sofia it's around 12-15k.

You need all three of these to work remote while travelling/geo hacking.

1. Not be a U.S citizen, be from a country that has lax rules on taxation for people who left their country.
2. Find a job from a U.S company or a relatively high paying worldwide remote job.
3. Setup an LLC in wyoming/NM (best), Dubai (best but needs 1 visit every 180 days), UK. Collect salary in your company as a contractor and pay yourself a salary.

Very few people are able to pull this off. Hence the huge arbitrage and savemaxx opportunity.

Cyprus was an amazing spot to set up the LLC but they went full brainlet 2 years ago so they ruined a perfectly good thing.
A Dubai IFZA company will set you back almost $10k the first year, and $6-7k/year onwards since they require you to rent an office (and conveniently, there's fake coworking places in the same building where they set it up for you).
The rest of the free zones are not applicable for codemonkeys, and obviously mainland Dubai is not tax free, and definitely not hassle-free.
I'd say it was easy to pull it off 10 years ago, now it's next to impossible unless you're ballin with a $250k+ salary.
But if you're making that much, would you seriously risk it all by offering all those gymnastics to your employer? I wouldn't.
