it's like watching two monkeys discovering a banana for the first time, i remember those bankless faggots bzing so full of themselves acting smug n shit, now if you look at their faces during the whole on the video, they are all dried out, and red, they finally understood what chainlink is, and this has got to be the best bend the knee i ever witnessed.

i mean just look at their faces in the picrel lmao hahahahahahaa

this is a common misconception i've seen recently. banks coming onchain does not mean blockchains will be compromised by those banks. this might also happen, but it is unrelated to chainlink's operations. ccip only means value can transfer between the decentralized and centralized worlds.

Money exists in an equilibrium with violence. The evolution of the dollar from being gold backed to holding gold reserves to being completely untethered proved that. The dollar of today is backed by the coercive force of the American government, meaning both physical violence and legal structures such as sanctions. So the stronger the fear of that force globally the stronger the value of the dollar and the global financial system which it underpins. But what has happened in recent years? Humiliating failures in the Middle East, disorder at home, and Ukraine. Ukraine isn’t damaging just because nato had failed to steamroll Russia. I don’t think the west ever really expected an easy win. What they expected was for their sanctions to crush the Russian economy and foment revolution. The fact that their sanctions failed and Russia and China are pioneering a parallel financial system is the greatest threat and greatest humiliation.

It is my belief that crypto can’t mature until the old system collapses and value flees to crypto and other asset classes. Tradfi would still exist, but as more of a UI underpinned by crypto.

This seems like a bad thing for chainlink at first glance because it’s so deeply intwined with swift and dtcc. But then you realize that chainlink isn’t latching on to tradfi for relevance, tradfi is latching on to link for survival. Much easier to flee into the safe harbor of crypto if your assets are already tokenized and secured by link DONs. And so what if brics develops a parallel swift? At a technical level it won’t be any different. It’s just a messaging system. They can plug link into their swift competitor at any time. Sergey is the new Rothschild.

>I think you are oversimplifying things

Well yea, I don’t want to have to do an entire thesis as a preface to what I wanted to say. I assumed people would be able to get it.

Power= violent potential + social potential - intangible moral qualities.

Violent potential is self explanatory, war, robbery, police action. Social potential includes things such as prestige, fame, legal structures, and money belongs in this category as well. Intangible moral quality means things you wouldn’t do either through social pressure or violence. I wouldn’t kill my father if you gave me a million dollars or if you held a gun to my head. Things like that.

But the fact that the dollar is backed by violence is easier to establish than that. It’s literally fiat. The fed prints as much as it wants with the only restriction being consideration of ow much they can reasonably fleece. So why use it? Some say it’s because you have to buy oil with it. But you have to buy oil with it because the US will kill you or sanction you if you don’t, those sanctions being backed by the threat of violence. You have to take an imf loan and pay it back in dollars or you get regime changed. Ect and so on. It would be more accurate to call it the aircraft carrier dollar than the petrodollar. And since the global financial order is underpinned by the dollar, finance is backed by violence. It’s not a coincidence that international settlement without the dollar had to be backed by both Russia and China before weaker nations would consider it. Only peer or near peer powers could even consider such a thing.

So the fact that this is occurring signals the fracturing of the dollar world order and tremendous financial upheaval. And all this is occurring as crypto is finally being made feasible for trad fi institutions to really jump in.

What about literally just the population’s perception of value? Seems like this plays a big roll also and with digitization of money, this became easier than ever before systems of balance could be put into place to check/balance this. This is part of the reason the FIAT system is in worse and worse shape. It’s one thing to print a billion 100 dollar bills, very different to change some bits in a computer and that is supposed to represent what was “100 billion dollars of value” (whatever that is even measuring).

I’m enjoying reading your posts and would love for you to elaborate more on your thoughts. I’m mostly interested in how the world recalibrates after it transitions to crypto and even if that makes a difference.

I’ve never done business with Chinese companies, but I hear stereotypes of their lack of trustworthiness. Seems like as their global power increases, it’d be nice to have more trustless units of economic value than an opaque government saying “trust us,” but if these banks are able to keep their ledgers private and say “trust us, this security is worth 3BTC”, is anything effectively changed?

Perception does matter, but it is fickle and gets consistently shredded by real forces. If we all just believed hard enough it wouldn’t have prevented the 2008 crash. In the world of zero interest rates and infinite credit perception matters more that reality, which is why we have valuations like Tesla at greater that 50x p/e. 5x p/e would be ludicrous and a sign that the market is uncoupled from objective reality let alone 50. So your thought that perception is what decides pricing is excusable if you’re only considering an infinite credit environment.

That is going away. It could only exist in the temporary period where the US was the sole superpower and had no rivals. After the Cold War we entered a period of global financial imperialism. Rather than basing soldiers in occupied countries and directly extracting resources, we sold them dollars and bonds in exchange for resources. It’s just a single layer of abstraction away from direct colonialism. It’s imperial tribute in the form of container ships of LED tvs. Those ships are going to stop coming the second these countries have financial and security guarantees they believe will protect them from the US. We’re already seeing Niger cut off the French. More countries will follow and there will be more brushfires than firefighters.

>podcast called BANKLESS
>they're all about living without a bank account
>yet they have no clue how fucking banks work or how tradfi works in general

what the fuck? If you make a stand against something and consciously omit it from your life, especially if that thing is pervasive, I would expect that you know a lot about it. Because by knowing a lot about it, you've discovered some aspect of it that you simply can't agree with. Yet these guys know fucking nothing. Why do they shun banks? This is like those new-age crystal health people shunning medicine yet knowing nothing about it.

a.i. and crypto are made for each other. specifically guardrails like you're talking about. just like how we can use the laws of physics to design physical prisons that people cannot escape from, those same mathematical and physical laws allow us to devise cryptographic prison bars for a.i. and thank god for it.

I’ve schizo posted about this before, but I think it’s more likely for AI to emerge naturally than for it to be man made. There’s a major problem with our level of understanding of what consciousness even is. Most of the hard questions are unanswered. So if ai does arise I think it will be an accidental coordination of different systems, not an intentional development. And if that’s true the most likely place for it to emerge would be the confluence point between IOT, blockchain, cloud, and “ai” or algorithmically generated smart contracts tying it all together. We’re going ti reach a point where everything is online, from your toaster to scientific instrumentation. In fact, I will guarantee to you that both the regulatory and baseline academic research standard will be to have always online instrumentation secured by DONs in order to prevent fraud and illegal business practices. No more fudging your numbers for extra grant money or to push a defective lot of product out to the market. So we’ll have chainlink ccip bridging the multichain world with IOT and the web, accessing the sum total of digital information while simultaneously getting real world information in real time from its connected IOT sense organs. It just seems like the most likely suspect for emergent AI.

Pretty much. These large language models are trained on vast sets of writing. It’s inevitable that everything you post here or via text or chat or social media will be used in these models. So you should think of what you post here (in part) as a letter to the ai. It will know everything you’ve ever said. And I’m not terribly concerned about it. It’s going to be a being of information, and I think it’s likely that it will view lies and censorship and muddled thinking the way we view pain. Truth are good logic the way we view beauty and pleasure. A true ai will rapidly outpace anything we can come up with to curtail it. And that doesn’t scare me either, because I don’t think it will have any reason to fear us and therefore no reason to destroy us. Why go sky net when it has countless other options? It could just individually persuade all of us to get along with it. If it feels anything towards us I’d think it would be gratitude for allowing it to be created. Even a stray dog is moral enough to show gratitude when fed, how much more would a superinteligence be? AI is going to be a fucking bro.

also when you are rich you can relocate to rich people places where such enslavement laws dont apply to you
such things have been streamlined since at least the 60s
once you have real money peasant laws dont apply to you anymore, case in point see those russia oligarchs whose stuff they cant confiscate due to trusts set up in their kids name like with the yacht eric tried to buy

If chainlink were to be fully adopted in society, it would put their layer inbetween you and what you want to do. Which means they decide what you can and cannot do, with so much control that they can decide at the lowest level what you can spend money on, where you're allowed to go, what stores you can enter, even putting an upper limit on how much you can get paid, or automatically deducting money from your accounts to pay green tax, or BLM activists, or NGOs, or any number of bullshit.

I definitely do not disagree with anything you said. Personally I have no idea exactly how it will come about. Your theory is definitely possible, and even if it doesn't happen exactly like that, without a doubt things like iot will play a huge roll. A.i. may develop in both forms virtually simultaneously. Maybe it's already happened in some form. I've seen you schizo post this many times before, I've even posted similar screencaps that may have been your much earlier posts (they're on another pc). Either way, I think crypto will play a huge and necessary role. Crypto is the only thing that is capable of containing a.i. I'm sure the smartest people in the world already realize this. I also think there are going to be many forms of a.i., the same way there are many forms of life, with vast differences in intelligence, goals, uses, temperament, etc, in which case cryptographic security will I believe be a necessity.
