Got a payout recently and looking at PMs. What are the advantages/disadvantages of kilo silber burrs over a hefty haul of 10ozs? Premium is less on the kilo bars and they're from an established vendor rather than an ebay store.

I bought a monster box during the dip when covid was just starting out and haven’t stacked anything since, though I’ve had an idea in the back of my mind that I’d start cycling through silver eagles, maples, australians, gold. Now my wife wants to buy some gold now because she saw a thing about costco selling 1 oz bars. I had figured that when I started buying gold I’d begin with the old Euro sovereigns. Idk, I read something that said that at one point, Roman soldiers were paid basically a mercury dime per day, so that’s what I’ve based my stacking on. Starting from an arbitrary date, I looked at it as “paying” myself the daily equivalent of that mercury dime. This comes out to like 2 oz a month. Should I just figure out what that ratio to gold would be and buy that much all at once for this year?

Jesus, was that all it took? How do we get Gucci to mint bullion? Can we get Prada and Dooney and Burke in, too?

>>56226418
Bigger bars are easier to fake (though there are still plenty of fakes for some common rounds and coins, mind), harder to verify, and may be harder to liquidate if silver ever goes up in a major way. If those things aren't a concern or storage is a larger concern, go for the kilos. I'd want to have some one ounces on hand if you don't already, though.

In a fake coin, the sonic peaks will always be located at very different locations.

Most fakes are only made in order to defeat people who either only weigh their coins or some fancy places that only use X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometers. These are pretty boss-tier devices but only measure the surface composition.

Me being envious of anything Chinese of any sort made in the last century is laughable, but being envious of mass-produced, aesthetically unremarkable, underweight, overpriced and fundamentally soulless modern Chinese bullion featuring a useless animal that those bugmen nearly drove to extinction because they couldn't be bothered to find pigs or chickens instead for their gutter-oil gastronomy is completely absurd. its all cumulative. I've got about 50k of jewelry that I've got for around scrap with a small amount slightly over spot. If I have cash on hand and something comes up on ebay or from scrap dealers that I know locally -- and I even halfway want to wear it or give it to my wife-- I buy it.

I know that for some of it I will lose 25% immediately if I sell it for scrap, but I feel like if you are buying for long term holding but I feel that if you enjoy wearing it (which has value in itself) it is worth it since it will surpass the premium you paid over the long term.

I got pic related for my wife but it hasn't come yet. 1250USD + 100USD shipping for 25g of 18k gold. If the diamonds are even half decent quality it'll look pretty good I'm sure.

The funny thing is that if you have real gold jewelry -- even if it's out of style -- people think you're rich. I wear 10k watches and nobody says anything but when I wear a pin with 5g of gold people look at it and say "you must be doing very well for yourself these days".

somewhat disagree. saves are the grail that burglars are looking for. if you have an open safe with some fake coins they'll grab the junk and bounce.

if they don't have something they think is valuable to take they will stick around looking for valuables. decoy safes IMO are a real good thing to have.

The big question is how to store your real valuables in a way that is accessible to you but not easily found by burglars.

Something about the house, it’s contents or the owner made Tyrone and Jamarquious think the Risk/Reward balance was suitable for risking their lives and freedoms for.

I actually described this way back in the very first /pmg/ thread when I had started developing a proof-of-concept. This method uses the Kirchoff thin plate model to simulate gold and silver coins as a vibrating disc and generate the theoretical modal frequencies for them, then you can use a spectrograph to make sure that your actual coins are real by matching the observed frequencies to the theoretical ones. I got the idea from an article I read in the European Journal of Physics:

The fud suggesting that buying real estate and renting it out is a better use of your wealth than PMs is hilarious! In the USA anyway, commercial real estate is already in collapse and residential collapse is coming soon because both are based on an unsustainable debt bubble. And leasing out residential property is a huge risk. Not only can you get deadbeat and/or destructive tenants that are hard to evict and impossible to collect from, but the administrative branch of government has demonstrated that it is willing to simply suspend by unconstitutional order the terms of leases and relieve tenants of the obligation to pay rent and block eviction entirely.

And real estate is very easy to confiscate. It happens in virtually every revolution or coup. So called "land reform" (which means the abrogation of property rights) is a perennial event in the history of the world.

Buy gold and silver. It never fails. It never goes to zero. It is the hardest asset for government to confiscate.

Example for Costco: Anon brings his 1/10 ozt gold coin to the customer service counter. Lady behind counter verifies it with sigma, gives anon a Costco shop card worth its value. Anon then stocks up on groceries and spends the balance on the card at checkout. Seems simple enough, thoughts?

1. It keeps customers coming back. Moreover, it keeps them re-upping their membership. The bars are clearly a sort of loss-leader for them.
2. Limiting the numbers means that more people get to buy them. This means more memberships. If they did not limit it, then some bot would just buy them all up at once and nobody would be buying memberships to get their chance to beat a robot to the click.
3. Because more people can buy them, more people are likely to get the word out so that their friends/family can buy them. This also drives membership.

Its ALL about the membership fees for them here.

Ah that's neat, so it's one of several different premodern alchemical notation symbols for copper. One of the symbols for iron is awfully familiar too. I looked for examples of Heimerle-Meule's silver bars and some of them are stamped with the lunar crescent alchemical symbol as well, I don't recall seeing anyone else doing this but it's pretty cool.

>Costco buys 50,000 ounces of Gold to achieve maximum quantity discount.
>Sells for like $20 profit per bar.

It's really not that hard to grasp. If they wanted they could single handedly destroy what remains of Silver Eagle premiums by buying dump trucks full of Eagles and selling for a 50 cent profit on each.

today is a great day to buy whatever you want. i like getting gold jewlrey for my woman, and silver for my stack. i too like the sovereign coins. i cashed out my 401k, as i dont think the usd will be worth much of anything by the time that pays out, and i dont use a savings account anymore. cashed out for silver. a good bet is to just stack whats on sale. hit the deals tab on monument metals and do whatever suits you. maybe some 1/4oz gold, or a stack of dimes if you like small coins.

constitutional coinage is usually $1.40 face value pr troy oz, or a $10 face value tube is 7.15 ozt.

grab yourself 4, $10 tubes of silver, some fractional british or canadian gold. thats pretty much what i was planning on this next paycheck.

oh i just checked monument, they have an old gold frank you might like

did you forget to answer every one of his questions? or do you just not know how? its okay bro, i used to have really silly ideas about communism in high school. the trick is to look at the question he asked you and try to answer each part of it. then, once you realize there isnt a good answer, accept you are wrong and learn from it. dont be wrong about the same thing twice if you can help it.

and try not to rely on iq jokes like that, they dont really land well in circles where we judge based on post quality like here. it comes across as elitist and if your argument is sub par, then it actually makes you seem like the silly one.

i wish you the best, and hope you learn from what you read here today.
