Idk, I read something that said that at one point, Roman soldiers were paid basically a mercury dime per day, so that’s what I’ve based my stacking on. Starting from an arbitrary date, I looked at it as “paying” myself the daily equivalent of that mercury dime. This comes out to like 2 oz a month. Should I just figure out what that ratio to gold would be and buy that much all at once for this year?

Bigger bars are easier to fake (though there are still plenty of fakes for some common rounds and coins, mind), harder to verify, and may be harder to liquidate if silver ever goes up in a major way. If those things aren't a concern or storage is a larger concern, go for the kilos. I'd want to have some one ounces on hand if you don't already, though.

its all cumulative. I've got about 50k of jewelry that I've got for around scrap with a small amount slightly over spot. If I have cash on hand and something comes up on ebay or from scrap dealers that I know locally -- and I even halfway want to wear it or give it to my wife-- I buy it.

I know that for some of it I will lose 25% immediately if I sell it for scrap, but I feel like if you are buying for long term holding but I feel that if you enjoy wearing it (which has value in itself) it is worth it since it will surpass the premium you paid over the long term.
