in that situation you'd come out even worse and still be buying 100 shares for an average cost of $0.95 that are worth $0.90. You would end up having to be short the put and short 100 shares of stock to profit. Plus there's always the risk the stock gaps on you, so your stop can't get the price you are looking for or you get assigned early since you're on the short end of the option.

You're thinking about this the wrong way. The point of selling puts is to pick up shares at a lower price and/or to gain $ from the premium. What you are doing is leveraged trading for a small amount of premium. That premium (extrinsic value) is the only benefit from your strategy. It's not worth it. A better option is to buy deep ITM calls to create a synthetic stock position.

You absolutely will. Again, you are leveraged trading. If the short put is not cash secured then you are using leverage. You will have more shares than money to pay for them.
