There will never be another CEO like Big Lou, the greatest CEO of IBM.

Lou Gerstner came in when IBM was straight-up falling apart like a soggy Dorito in milk -- and he turned it into a tech juggernaut. By the time Gerstner retired in 2002, IBM's stock had gone from $13 to $90 per share. The company went from near bankruptcy to stable profitability. Gerstner took on an enormous challenge in turning around IBM and executed flawlessly.

Gerstner also saw the potential in services and software, shifting IBM's focus from just hardware. Lou was like the Steve Jobs of Big Blue, but without the gay, black turtlenecks. The way he rallied the IBM troops was inspirational. He knew how to get everyone hyped up. Not only did Lou rescue the company from the brink -- he saw the tech future, and led with charisma.

Now, let's compare this to Arvind "poojeet" Krishna's tenure as CEO. While Arvind inherited a stronger IBM than Gerstner did, his leadership has been marked by a lack of clear direction and a focus on splitting up the company into smaller units. While some may argue that this is necessary, it doesn't display the same strategic prowess that Gerstner demonstrated. Krishna seems to be more interested in doing the needful and appeasing shareholders with short-term gains, whereas Gerstner had a long-term vision that ensured IBM's survival and prosperity.

Yes agreed. Doing the needful and appeasing shareholders is what put IBM in this position in the first place.

How the fuck do you squander leads in AI and cloud like that???? They had a MASSIVE research division.

IBM is the quintessential US institution and every God-fearing American should support it.

This company is going straight to zero unless they put a man with functioning testicles in charge. Have a look at Arvind. Do you think this cuck even has control of his own bladder? He is, at best, damage control after Ginni nearly destroyed the company (https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/31/ibm-was-worst-performing-large-cap-tech-stock-during-romettys-tenure.html).).

IBM needs a true savior, otherwise it will be relegated to the sands of time.

Yup they need a Gerstner type that will get rid of people, piss everyone off, and shock them out of complacency.

Otherwise they are Sears... with a nice slow Pink Floyd-style fade away "there is no pain you are receding..."

Funny thing is, they still command global respect from boomer leaders. Once they die, its over for IBM.
