That's what is amazing about this move. It's not being driven by speculators or investment instruments.

It's being driven by a handful of utilities and the reason there's barely any volume is because there is barely any uranium for sale. There's no more supply and the operating mines are struggling with production issues due to supply chain issues and only have a few years of operation left anyway. Read this from someone who was on the ground at the World Nuclear Association's yearly symposium a couple of weeks ago just days before the price action began...

https://pracap.com/the-bigger-short/

We could see $200-$400/lb uranium prices in a few years.

She came up with this later after asking a few questions at the start and a 2-3min MONOLOGUE just fuckin reading what GFK is and what they do.

And she even got a little pissy at the end while I was getting pissy and at the same time trying to be nice by asking if my answer at least were helpful for her job. I think she didn't even understand what I was asking her and she was only able to read german because it is in latin letters. I don't know how she can fuckin work there and if she has ANY fuckin success, but I didn't want to be mean at the phone and ask her or tell her this. only affects those that the market doesn't give a crab about soooo why should anyone care? It's like people assuming inflation is bad when in actuality it's bad only for the lower classes and those don't matter in the scope of the market.
>High Mortgage rates
everyone smart enough or that matters has either re-financed during Covid or paid off the loans (or substantial parts). Once again, only affects the new generations that are new to life and have to take huge loans. Does not matter for the market.
And so on. The market simply doesn't care about most of these economic situations since they mostly only affect normal people or poor people

In theory reducing the average person's spending can help reduce inflation but a lot of other things matter, too. If there's an oil shortage it doesn't matter how high the interest rate is or how much people aren't spending, things are going to get expensive. Lack of confidence in the strength of the currency or overall economy can also cause inflation no matter what the underlying cash flow situation actually is.

Kek. Evergrande _is_ the chink economy right now. If it unravels, China is going to take down the stock market. They just arrested the chairman, they're not fucking around anymore. Chinks have killed or jailed corrupt billionaires before, and they'll do it again, most recently Lai Xiaomin, Bao Fan, Xiao Jianhua and probably a bunch of others we don't know about. Jack Ma got hit with a $3.6bn fine. Chinks are going to have the Evergrande leadership killed, screenshot this post and check it again in 6 months.

Every time the 1 month bills get auctioned at an interest rate above the reverse repo rate, money that is currently held in the reverse repo is moved over to buy those short term treasuries. Once enough of these short term treasuries are bought, the interest on these treasuries drops as demand is transiently increased for these bonds. The interest on these treasuries then settle back down around the RRP rate.

They don't currently

And there is historical precedents for what happens when bonds do this. It isn't hard to understand.

>> No.56210810

right now the 2year minus 10year US treasury yields are negative because the market has been selling the long end maturities and buying the short end. That means bond holders are expecting higher inflation, and it results in a negative 2y-10y, i.e. an inverted yield curve. An uninversion in the yield curve would indicate the bond market is seeking to derisk by buying long dated treasuries, i.e. shit has to be looking pretty fucking bad if the market is willingly flocking to fucking 10y treasuries (which is basically an admission that the market will happily take a near risk-free low yield for ten years). Which indicates a crash is on the way. If the yield curve begins uninverting that is. Too early to say.

the t-bill, which is why I bought them. It just seems like stocks would have to make so much to justify the risk now. Like if I can make 5.5% with very low risk, or have high risk.. I'd have to think I can make a whole lot more in the stocks to justify that.. and that's hard for me to think now.

Good answer. No picture the following scenario: the T-bills start getting sold in favor of long dated bonds like the 10y. The T-bill yield shrinks to say 2% and the 10y yield goes to 3%. At the same time, equities keep underperfoming and bad economic data keeps coming out. This is the kind of scenario pictured in a typical uninversion
