i know it’s not at all a free country, but i’ve been to china several times and there are a ton of great places to live. in Hunan, there’s so much natural beauty, and some of the tourist cities like Phoenix Town (Fenghuang) are straight out of a postcard, largely untouched by soviet influence. China’s pretty safe, people tend to be fairly quiet and polite, the girls are cute, there’s a fuckton of variety for food, etc.
It’s not that bad desu, especially for a person with a heavily censored aperture into the outside world. no surprise they’d want to stay; they probably think that’s as good as it gets.
