ABS has elastomer components that increases greatly its impact resistant. PET doesn't have those which means the materials were most likely a lot more brittle, specially as injection molding doesn't induce orientation like blow molding. My guess is that they haven't figured out how to reinforce PET with E-GMA, Styrene GMA or SEBS-MAH without retardly increasing the viscosity and gel formation. The sustainability argument is bullshit and even economically rPET is cheaper than ABS and the transition to PET for them is inevitable as PET prices keep dropping due massive capacity increases (clothing and packaging) while Styrenics become increasingly more expensive due their continous loss in market share.

>An issue was the need to completely change the tooling and process.
I don't know what percentage of the production is in-house, but my guess is that they outsource these things to suppliers as plastic machinery is relatively cheap and easy to operate, so you have a shit tone of providers and a lot of excess capacity world wide as it is one of the first industries to develop in the third world.
The tooling thing is bullshit if you outsource to someone that has experience with PET.
My guess is that they are partially lying, because I have read their patent on PET bricks (I read it for work a while ago) and they relied on reactive extrusion which is very prone to form gels during extrusion.
At the end if they figure out PET bricks they would go from bricks 3€/kg to something that costs 1 €/kg or 1.3 €/kg (add like 20 cents at most per kilogram for the expensive reactive polyolefin) for recycled bottles which would dramatically increase their margins.

I had an orthodox Jewish classmate who would do stuff like this. One of their rules is they can’t use certain types of technology during a certain period on the weekends. So instead of actually abstaining from those things, he would ask others to do those things for him to get around the rules. Like turn on the light for him, check the time for him, stuff like that.

It's down around 80% from where that shill was pushing it earlier this year. Previously it was trading near cash on hand, with continued burn expected and no way to really benefit.
Now the discount is substantial enough that there's a legitimate chance a liquidation can be forced with meaningful profit for today's buyers.

Yes, that's the point. WISH is hopeless.
Stock trades at $100 mil market cap. Something like $500 mil cash on hand. The cash burn continues but if they can cease activity within 6 months and choose to liquidate, there'll be plenty of profit for buyers today.

Even if that doesn't happen, its reasonably likely they field some buyout offers with this explicit intention. Reminds me of ROOT a few months ago. Complete garbage company, but at a certain point even absolute dogshit may warrant a buy.
