Ok what the fuck? Why does Amazon need to spam ads on Prime Video? I can understand why some of their subsidiaries like Twitch having to spam 10 annoying ads in a row because that company is slowly dying and never was that profitable...

But AMAZON? One of the richest companies around. There's no excuse for that shit.

If I sell $15 puts for $375 each dated in to 2026 and the stock price is hovering just above $15, what price would I realistically expect to be called? Im selling long dated puts to get a cheaper entry price.

Is it more random, the decision of this person holding this put? IE: They could wait a year until it drops a lot to call it - or should one expect to be called when the price drops below $15? For example, the price dropped to $14.97 but I was not called.

The title of the pic is ironic cause somebody called me bleeding maniac for shorting EU since February (as if I wasn't also taking profits, lol)

CMC Markets is that. IG markets also pays you, but the positions are larger. You cannot mass minipositions.

You unironically can even tweak the amount you get. I have a 0,5 short position which gave me 0,19 cents yesterday.

A 0,04 position gave me 0,02 €
0,04Posx12,5 = 0,5
0,02€ x12,5=0,25€

It was like that for yesterday. Gonna observe it remains like that. That's squeezing every penny out of my margincapital.

What do you mean? The picture can be misleading. The rate is negative and the sum is a positive sum, but I receive money, it is not being subtracted.

For indices the rates are variable, they are linked with the EU short term rate (ESTER) which is linked to the ECB rates. This is why I got more money last night, because last week they raised and it takes most times a week to adjust, as you can see on picrel a day earlier.

So if they cut I will get interest like yesterday and so on. For me to have to pay again, although not much we would need 4 cuts 25 bps.

It's also way higher than at the banks.

DAX has 780 margin for 1 position. For one position I assume you get 0,38€ per day.
0,38x30= 11,4Euros
That's about 17% interest p.a.
But you have to watch your margin, have reserves. I do have about 50% reserves in the bank for 4% currently, but not fixed, so that I can always pump my margin if necessary. Gonna short more next week depending on how we move. I actually just wanted to short more but I forgot that DAX closes 22:00 and not 23:00 on friday, lol.

After wasting two weeks and losing about $3k while VWENX dropped I finally realized that unlike what I was told:
I can sell the assets in my inherited IRA without triggering a tax event, and

VMFXX (vanguard's settlement fund) is paying 5.28%, so I don't need a fucking CD/HYSA.

So now that my money is safe from further loss and almost keeping up with inflation, what do? And when?

And if anyone remembers last week, I fired that financial advisor Monday morning and he was wrong/lying about a lot of shit. Thank you for pointing this out. My mom had just died and I wasn't thinking clearly. Under ordinary circumstances I wouldn't have even been talking to this guy, much less giving him my money.

The left wing activism angle of SVB was overblown as is typical nowadays. When someone discovers a very tenuous link to politics they go crazy. The pajeeta who you're probably referring to didn't make any of the investment decisions, she was a diversity hire, but just did typical make-work pajeeta shit. It's important to know these distinctions because often retards from here end up making financial decisions on these badly researched rumors.

betting against it isn't the best move unless something extreme comes in which case trading will halt anyways.

That was a pajeeta they hired at the last moment, weeks before shit hit the fan. But they literally had no risk officer for the preceding year or two because they *only* wanted a diversity hire (and how many diversity hires are qualified to be the chief risk officer of a bank?).

Hiring one single white guy would've caused them to go "oh wait, our loan book blows up if the Fed keeps hiking".
