Why being a min wage wagie feels like slavery?

But slaves dont get paid, at least that is the head cope wagies always say when confronted with the notion

in my shithole the min wage is $800 and it is called the "basic wage" because that's what you will be expecting to earn at any job you start
got a friend who believes his $1300/month is amazing money, that's how bad things are

i cannot get motivated to work because i would have to wage away for 2 years while having 0 expenses (by living with parents) just to buy my first starter car, maybe 1 year of waging to buy an older, used one
it is ridiculous

Slaves got paid in food and shelter, which, for the amount of work hours provided, was more generous than minimum wage wageing, where people might need a second job to cover their food, rent and bills

>> No.56165519

>>56165465
You spend all of it on your rent and food so they do not get paid.

Oh you are naive
Most slaves in history did get paid, had a family and a home

>>56165465
If you're spending all your income of food and rent you aren't getting paid either. What we have is basically the equivalent to slave owning societies that let their slaves find new masters.

I know the pain, here min wage is 500 usd, sometimes to earn that you must break your back 9 hours a day 6 fays a week, for me to buy a car I would need to save every penny I dont use in basics, every single one for 4 years lmao its fucking grim

Slavery sounded pretty comfy to what we have now. They turned fiat into a worse form of slavery. Fiat makes our life seem better since there’s the appearance of more choices. But most of the choices are out of reach for 80% of earners…im surprised everyone is eating the shit meal without much pushback

They got free food, room and board. No freedom. Today we have an illusion of freedom, but you pay for everything.

Not flexing. Being self-employed, i’m on $80 an hour. But there’s only so many hours a day. How much of your time are you willing to trade for a slightly more comfortable, but less, leisure time?
And if the work you do is hard labour, you’re going to enjoy a more comfortable downtime a lot less.

Only way to get ahead in my case is to upscale and have numerous employees. And they’ll become the equivalent of my bagholders that i can dump on, just so that I can one own a modest house lol

>> No.56165945

It's because minimum wage workers unironically work the hardest out of all wagies. Sadly, they get paid the least. I feel for them.

where is this "shithole" where 800 US dollars is minimum wage?

>> No.56166238

It is. Wage slavery is slavery. Frederick Douglas former chattel slave noted how wage slavery felt more soul crushing because you were conscious to the injustice. It was common for chattel slaves to be in a state of blissful ignorance regarding the meta of the arrangement even if they hated the particular abuses of rape, torture, labor etc.

Yeah but where do you live though? I’m not saying $3 an hour is comfortable anywhere in the world, but here in Australia, minimum wage is about $23AUD which is about $15USD. Cost of living is insanely high here. The cheapest rent, in the cheapest areas of the major cities, starts at like $1300-1500 a month.

But you are right in that I wouldn’t trade places to earn $10 an hour in Karachi, even if that was considered cosy over there

Minimum wage workers can't do that here, either.
Granted, middle class earners can usually afford at least one vacation, and conditions are generally nicer than they are in most shitholes, so we have that going for us. But making $10/hour in the US is nothing like making that amount where you live. You would feel much richer than our wageslaves because it would put you far ahead of everyone else you come in contact with on a daily basis, you'd have status and WAY more disposable income due to lower cost of living. Someone making $10/hour in America is a dirt poor loser who can't even afford their own place to live
