I am highly confident that Satoshi Nakamoto physically resided in Los Angeles, California in January 2009. I am moderately confident he was a solo dev and is not Finney, Szabo, or Sassaman. I am moderately confident he is English or Welsh and was not faking the spelling.

I don't want people randomly theorizing in this thread. My only ask:

Can anyone here find possible candidates for people they can prove lived in LA in January 2009? Particularly people raised in Britain with experience in open source and network software.

(If I do find who he is, I won't reveal it because I don't want to ruin his life, or his family's life if he's no longer alive.)

I'm aware I'm far from the first to propose this. I just found some additional evidence today that likely narrows it down specifically to LA rather than a city in the general area.

Doubtful. My theory:

- Definitely was in LA on January 10, 2009

- Probably grew up in England

- May not have been an academic or researcher, but could've been; probably at least a bachelor's, and maybe a master's or PhD but not necessarily

- Has likely released other open source projects before Bitcoin, likely in C++, very likely for Windows, probably with networking components, possibly with peer-to-peer networking components; could be a text-based game, chat app, or anything at all

I'm a decade-long security researcher and software engineer and that's my best guess, at least.

Unironically, this is a real possibility as most people involved seem to have years of tech background. Also, censorship resistance was always one of Satoshi's primary concerns. Creating something entirely new during the downfall of social media seems like a reenactment of what happened in 2008/2009 when everything was crumbling.
