So whats the final verdict on ESG? Is it literally just a way to get companies into massive debts. Have ESG backed investments gotten better returns than they otherwise would have? Are 401ks being used for ESG investments a good thing financially?

Doesn't help much but it's the best we have since right now there is no real way to measure net impact of anything really.

Financially speaking, was a good pitch for the last 3 years, now the concept is (along with renewable energy stocks) overpriced for the time being.

For actual sustainable investing, rather find individual companies with a real mission since any big corp can fill the ESG checks really
