Whats the best way to go about not paying these? I dont really care about my goy score but if I can pay a tiny amount per month to have them fuck off I will. I dont care about how much interest accrues because I'm not going to pay it off and am confident they will be deleted eventually or I will just move to another country at some point. Realistically what will happen if I just dont pay them?

call and give them a sob story and beg for forebearance. or alternatively you can enroll in online graduate degree programs which qualify for unlimited loans. make academic progress then quit, and you get 6 months of grace (no loan repayments.) repeat this until you die, and rack up millions in student loans. kek.

Have you done the calculator off the government site? My brother did and his payment is $60/mo. They take your income and any dependents into consideration. So if you’re childless and make over $60k don’t bother but if you have a low salary or kids check it out

I applied for the SAVE program and my payments will be $200/month. I am betting on at least part of my loans being forgiven at some point in the future. I could pay off the $30k I owe right now but that would be retarded.

Get a job that pays $30k or less and enroll in the SAVE plan and you dont have to pay anything and it gets forgiven in 10 years

>> No.56136722

10 years is only for <$12k loan balance. for everyone else it's 20 years (undergrad loans) or 25 years (grad loans.)

Youre still paying $0 in that time though and theres probably gonna be forgiveness or a better repayment plan as this shit keeps spiraling out of control

if you make less than 50k per year sign up for the SAVE plan, your maximum payment will be 60/mo and the loan balance is forgiven after 20 years of these tiny payments

I'm an advocate of paying off any loan, but this is an interesting question.

As far as I can tell, here are the consequences of never paying off your loans:
* You can't ever get another decent loan again as your credit rating will drop. This will prevent you from getting any loans in the future, but it may also prevent you from qualifying for certain types of housing. Landlords of some apartments do treat credit score as an indication of your character.
* In some cases, they may garnish your wages. I don't know exactly under what conditions this happens. I guess if you always get paid under the table, then you won't be reporting anything for the government to take.
* Apparently you can't go to prison for not paying loans, but again I'm not a lawyer. I've never read anything that indicates that this could actually happen.

It sounds like mostly what will happen is that the loaner has to take the loss and you'll never be able to take another loan.

You can go to prison for:
1. Disobeying a court order
2. Not paying child support
3. Deceiving the IRS
A creditor can sue you for money owed in civil court, and the judge can order you to pay with assets you have or with garnished wages. If you get sued go to court and do whatever the judge says. If you're a neet with no assets there's nothing they can do.

A NEET with no assets could simply sign up for the income based repayment plans and have $0.00 payments. Also better for their future credit score, in case they do get a job later on and want a mortgage or what not, their payment history on their credit report will not show delinquent payments.
