The company legally cannot advise anyone direct register their shares. For the millionth time and certainly not the last, everyone that's already direct registered or holding with a real brokerage is going to be fine. Anyone on contract for difference sus brokers and phonebrokers is probably heemed. If someone wants to direct register their shit they're welcome to do it but honestly at this point it might be too late if the broker they're in won't drs directly for them since a lot of the major brokerages are now kicking back transfers from other brokers presumably because they didn't actually have the shares and tried sending over a fugazi.

I'm sticking with what I have which is some direct registered I'm never selling and the rest with a real broker. Anyone not already positioned similarly has sure waited a long damn time to do it now so a call to action does seem a little sus but maybe a lot of people are holding with shitty brokers and are about to get heemed. There's also the fact that unless someone is in the US they're not getting their account opened with AST for about a month at best waiting on their letter. If you are in the US you can speed that up and get it done in about a business week but tomorrow would be the last opportunity and it might still start while everything is transferring. It'd still be safer than leaving everything with a shitty broker but if someone is already in a good brokerage or already direct registered and has an AST account open they can move stuff to then they're already good to go. Worst case scenario would be being a foreigner holding in a shitty broker and having to drs now to protect themselves, because by the time they've got access to AST it'll be 4-6 weeks later. They'd still not be totally heemed and who knows what happens in the future but they'd be locked in long without control for quite some time.

People should make whatever decisions they feel prudent. Direct registration is great, holding with a real broker is fine, and the only people at risk are the ones that aren't already doing one of those two things.

Damn these shills REALLY picked up steam this January. I’m really glad they care about my investments and keep up to date on complex legal filings. Good thing they have warned me about the evils of a man who almost liquidated wallstreet (until they literally had to shut out a significant portion of the market from buying) by sending a letter to the board and buying into gme during early/mid 2020, and has been undertaking the same process with bed bath and beyond. Also good thing a $10,000 a month corporate action software suite stated the company was sold in January 2023 where shortly after Ryan Cohen tweeted how the government should stop shooting down his balloons.

Rc is nice and all but these benevolent actors who are looking out for my interests in what is ultimately a closed financial system, where one naturally becomes curious as to why these equity ordinators have such undeniable conviction for saving me from losses, as if their own livelihoods depend on it?

It’s just too bad all these stock market knights weren’t able to warn investors of bear sterns, which was followed by Lehman brothers. I heard they were busy helping others in need so it’s all ok.

I’m also really glad that the overwhelming majority of the 4th estate is completely captured by corporate interests. I think it’s truly wonderful that they are promulgating the information surrounding bbby (which has clearly been set as a top priority) so that retail can be saved from further losses. This actually makes a lot of sense when you think about it, as the media has established a precedent of looking out for the interests of retail traders, along with the middle class over all.

I genuinely feel like I’m apart of a thriving community with heathy core values because of all these wonderful, organically occurring, well intentioned actors who are here to help learn the truth and convince me to sell. I have never felt so loved.
