I use AI all the time. It’ll take a bit for it to fully replace people. I met someone who is an AI consultant and basically companies are all just figuring out how it even works and where they can use it in their operational flows. Over time the apps are going to get easier to use and incorporate and better. It’s not an over night thing. It’s an over the next 10 years thing. In a decade there is no way AI hasn’t fully replaced lots of jobs.

At the company I work at, for example, we used to have a team of 60 content writers. We downsized to 20 who just check the AI content and are happy to have jobs at all, and we output 4x the amount of content.

Content writers and customer support reps are the obvious first to go.. but why even have professors at a certain point? AI will more accurately answer student questions, teach difficult concepts, and drive ground breaking research.

AI is a meme. At best, it can regurgitate various human-created content. But often this leads to errors an inconsistencies. AI has no logical reasoning skills. It cannot be inductive. It cannot be creative. To function, it depends on massive amount of free, scrapeable content on the internet.
There is still hope for the future of AI dominance. But it is, at best, decades away.
