Funny I live in Slovakia and make 30-35k eur post tax as a codemonkey. My monthly expenses are in triple digits and I only have one office day a week (rest I can be wfh). I also don't do shit on many days - today I fucked around, had coffee and created one merge request then I headed off home around 1 pm. Living in Europe is only that terrible when you're a low tier wagie. Also I realize it's still not that much and I won't make it from working like this, that's why I'm doing things on the side. But the work couldn't be much comfier

20k is decent money only in eastern Europe. Groceries are the same price as in the US. So is fuel, cars and any consumer products. The only thing that's cheaper is rent and properties. You can pretty much buy a nice house for the price of one of those US drywall cucksheds but you will still need at least 200k if you want anything nice in a higher income area. So with 20k you can maybe get by as a debtslave. Also 50hrs/week is inhumane, I usually bill around 50hrs as well but I write my hours myself so I realistically do 30 at most
