I can't tell this to anyone in real life except my wife, my mother, and a friend, but today I found a job that will allow me to accomplish my goal of earning at least 200k a year by 30. My birthday is next month and my new job will pay just under $250,000 a year. It feels good to turn dreams into reality.

I also achieved my goal of reaching a healthier body weight and improving my fitness (strength/endurance) by 30. I'm also working on qualifying for next year's New York City Marathon and have almost reached my goal of going vegan for all of 2023.

Last year I met my goal of becoming a dad and also of becoming a homeowner.. A few years ago, I married the love of my life, graduated from law school, passed the bar exam, and became a lawyer, my dream job since kindergarten.

I think I'm one of the few people I know who has actually accomplished his goals and I see a lot of posts about "Not making it", so I thought I'd share my good news here to inspire others.

sorry bro but unless you're a 30 under 30 like me then I look down on you. I also ran a ultra marathon this year raising money for autistic european children. I can't believe these parents actually wait until their late 20s to have children wtf is wrong with them. So lucky i met the love of my life at Yale and her trust fund was enough to afford nannies who are teaching out two beautiful children Spanish and Mandarin as well. Aa such is life but I was lucky enough to be born with an actual work ethic unlike most losers. Seeing my dad beheaded back in my home country then growing up with a crackhead mom really set me in a good direction in life. So glad I was able to get her off that stuff after selling my startup

You have a stable and balanced life but that's different from "making it".

Making it really means having a paid-off house and several million in investments. AKA utter financial freedom.

To put things into perspective, 99% of Millennials and close to 100% of Gen Z have not made it.

i hate to tell you my friend, as someone who went from 10/hr to 225k/yr this year, that due to inflation and housing prices we're basically just some sort of shittier remnant of the declining middle class in america. rich enough to have some freedom but not real financial freedom, a step above the straight working poor (i.e., anyone making like 50-100k these days). add in the government and corporations conspiring to literally create a totally artificial recession right now and we're fucked. like labor finally gained significant power and the powers that be have decided to crash the entire economy to remove it. we're in clown world, and 200k is nothing like it would've been when we were kids.

i'm 25; it's 10am, i've had a healthy breakfast, will go for a 10km run. after that i'll eat a healthy lunch and work for like 4-5 hours. remember that the goal is not the important thing, but the system behind the being (read atomic habits)
in my eyes i've made it.
