I like to look at it technically correctly. The tax efficient thing to do is to borrow against the gains and use income from a job to pay off the borrowing.

the FT just published an article about how were going to reach peak oil by 2030, so the trick will be to balance around that over the next few years, but thats tough to predict.

the problem with it "being obviously time" is that youre probably too late, the market is moderately efficient after all.

I wasnt going to sell XOM for less than 120. SHEL has been trading at near its high of 63 so thats what I've been selling. To further balance I'll probably sell some of my telecom and a split of XOM and SHEL.
I don't think mortgage rates are going to go much higher so I think its a great time to lock in that yield.

I bought oil companies at the low point of covid, a historical event. I feel comfortable buying agency mortgages during a once a 40 years interest rate event.

nobody really knows whats going to happen. Oil can have a slow and graceful value decrease as they pay out dividends and buybacks, or it might not.

I don't think theres a problem with slowly diversifying into different stocks/sectors. I'm still like 43% in mortgage debt to 43 in oil. Over the next year or so I'll probably try to move to like 53% in mortgage debt to 33 in oil.

Mexico is also making LNG facilities and they're buying from up north. One way or another NA natty will find its way to the global LNG markets. Cheniere is an LNG carrier company so they work in the shipping industry. I don't really understand thta sector so I respectfully stay away from it, though I looked at them about a year ago and they are expanding their LNG ports.
