>The latin monetary union and its subsequent downfall by vaticankikes

Anyone else?

>Do you have any ancient gold by chance?

No ancient gold coins, I have some ancient gold and silver jewelry bits though. I'll get a few someday but I really do prefer silver. You can find ancient Greek Electrum "Hekte" coins (~2.5g nuggets) at reasonable prices, more common ones can be had for less than $300 which really ain't bad. Search "hekte" in the numismatic auction archives to get a sense for what they look like and sell for, you may want to add something like that to your wish-list.

I want more fun facts and history concerning money.
For example, did you know the origin of the word "money" comes from the latin word "Moneta" (which is stamped on most medieval and ancient roman coinage), who is the title of the goddess Juno (the Monitor, ie the adviser, admonisher). It was because the first roman mint was on Capitoline Hill, right in front of her temple, and it's supposed the gold and silver were kept in said temple, waiting to be minted.

Or that the modern dinar, used in many muslim countries, simply means denarius?

I love etymology, and i love history, and money is nothing more than a token of trust between humans. The most important one. That is why SHTF when politikikes play and cheat with money for too long, it break the trust among men, and the society grind to a halt without trust. Thus, to know the history of money is to know the history and philosophy of bonds between men.
This is why it's never teached in modern (((academia))). You have millions of roasties getting out of univ with sociology degrees each year, and never had a single class -not even a minute- concerning money, even though it should be sociology 101.
That's how (((rotten))) our system is. Because of course the money makers don't want us to know the absolute power they hold over society.

How have you guys not figured the silver scam after all these years?

> Silver is not scarce, at all.
> There are no mines open purely for silver. It is always a byproduct.
> The silver grift is a way for producers to move more silver.
> They constantly advertise the end of the world to Fox News Boomers to push silver.
> "Silver is going to da moon any day now!!!1 two more weeks!"

Gold's scarcity has already been established since antiquity. Barring anyone pulling down one of those asteroids, it's going to stay rare on Earth. Silver is just retarded.

No problem, good luck finding something cool and be sure to look at realized prices to gauge value, you don't want to overpay or settle for something so worn or off-center that it gives you no joy to own.

Anyway, after posting the jewelry bits I realized that I'd never showed off my ancient Roman silver ring. I've seen literally hundreds of fake or misattributed and much newer "roman" rings but lucked upon this genuine 2nd-3rd century example from an English detectorist selling off his collection on eBay and bought it sinfully cheap. It reads "VOT V MERCV" which means "5 years of vows/prayers to Mercury", so the ring was probably owned by a successful merchant who got the ring to signal his piety to and favor with that patron god of businessmen. It probably should have been declared "treasure" and handed over to professionals as-per UK treasure laws but I'd rather own it myself than have to visit it in a museum.

Rule #1 buy from a reputable source.
Rule #2 fakes are a big problem with coins that have numismatic value but not so much with bullion coins. So stay away from numismatics if you are worried.
Rule #3 Gold coins are almost impossible to fake due to the density. Specific gravity can be measured easily at home.
Rule #4 Ping test and magnet test are cheap.
Rule #5 LCS will let you use their testing equipment for a fee.
Rule #6 You can buy picrel is you make many PM purchases.

>What is that belt buckle looking piece in the center?

That is another special and rare genuine item found after passing on at least 20 fake examples (which boomer collectors gobble up because they're ignorant tardbags). It is a tinned bronze toga or cloak brooch, like the fibulae "safety pin" items more commonly used to hold togas together back then. It had a hinged iron pin (the rusty remains can be seen behind the face) and the pin-catch is bent outwards probably because it got stepped on or ripped off by a stinky barbarian. The letters look weird as the Romans liked their conjoined-letter ligatures but it reads 'ROMA", and was likely worn by a soldier serving on the fringes of the empire around the 3rd century AD. Things like that or the ring are much more rare than coins, but they're also much harder for normoids to navigate and compete against you for which makes antiquities very rewarding to collect if you know what you're doing and can sniff out killer deals.

Knowing how much damage every physical ounce of silver purchased is doing to the paper market and its broader system. Paper silver contract estimates range from 150 to 250 ozt relative to one physical ounce. In picrel, the printing aspect shows $150,000 of paper per ounce Ag. Buying physical harbours savings well; yet it is inspiring to know that there are consequences to the system. Clearly understanding the scale of that damage would set resolve to ape consistently.

All I got is a few of the Texas ones and a Marianas I think.
I got them with boxes because I got mine directly from the mint, for $150/each.

The "you should buy silver only, go all in on silver" shillers often attack gold or advise against gold whenever someone says he prefers gold over silver etc; it makes them very upset -- because they (the jews) want people (nonjews) to make the worst possible investment, and gold is obviously a better investment than silver (with which one only loses money as the price crabs while inflation skyrockets).

If you truly have been here for many years, say since 2017 for example, then you'd know exactly what's going on and know exactly what happened to /pmg/ because you were here as the change occurred. The "antis" you're talking about, what most of them are doing is that they're attacking the shillers. They're not really against silver itself. They're a counter force against the shillers. As you (should) know, there's a huge difference between pre-2021 /pmg/ and post-2020 /pmg/. The "antis" are mostly oldfags who are absolutely pissed at what /pmg/ has become and how PMs in general are now talked about on /biz/. The shill-attack on /pmg/ (by those pushing buy-silver-only, the plebbity silversqueeze, and splitting PM discussions into gold-vs-silver, that attack started in very early 2021 in conjunction with the shilling on plebbit which they launched in January of 2021, first on r/wallstreetbets which itself had the purpose of drawing people away from Bitcoin and trapping them in shit like GME. Then on January 29th 2021 they launched r/wallstreetsilver and on January 30th 2021 r/silversqueeze (and that by the way you can confirm via this method: https://archive.is/OuXFy ). Then shortly after, they attacked /pmg/. The anti-shillers who are attacking the you-should-stack-lots-of-silver / go-all-in-on-silver-it'll-made-you-rich / silver-is-better-than-gold narratives are reacting against those narratives the way they are because they're tired of the bullshit and want the old /pmg/ and old /biz/ back.

I read somewhere that the word "dollar" in women language or another (English, Nordic?), is by some, interpreted to have been adapted or originated from the name "Thaler", as in the Thaler coin of old.

The silver thaler was originally struck in Austria from 1740 to 1780 and was the currency of the Austrian Empire. The silver thaler was very important for trade with the Levant (parts of Turkey, Lebanon, Syria) and the Maria Theresa Thaler became the best known and most popular silver coin in the Arabian world.

My grandpa recently passed away, and we cleared out all of his things. I claimed the majority of the coins - he liked to collect. It's not much but there's some silver, a lot of foreign coins I'll have to search through.
There were two $1 notes from the Confederacy - me and one of my cousins each took one. Any anons know how to check if it's legit?
Wife wanted his WW2 food ration booklet - so we've got that as well.

Confederate currency in general is very interesting. They didn't have any bullion, all of their gold and silver went directly to Europe to pay for supplies. Whatever bullion they were able to pilfer from the branch mints in the South were also sent to Europe. That is why there is really no confederate coinage at all.

It was much more costly to mint and distribute confederate coinage so they ended up using banknotes...which couldn't be backed by bullion. They were essentially promises that bearers would be paid in full after a victory scenario. Initially the notes carried interest like bonds, and the payment dates were in a much shorter range of like six months or a year as they expected the secession to go smoothly (in the later years the payment date was always two years out or "after a treaty has been signed").

Since they were backed by nothing but hope basically (there were attempts to back the currency by other tangible goods such as cotton or tobacco), the confederate currency plummeted at any signs of defeat. After the Battle of Gettysburg, the value of the confederate dollar dropped over 20%. Counterfeiting was also very very rampant as there were over 72 types of confederate and state currency in circulation at any time and easy to replicate. It is said that one prolific counterfeiter singlehandedly produced 1-3% of the South's money supply.

Possibly. But the Egyptian Relics series has been around since at least 2016, when their King Tut was released. From a site's description,
"The deity Kek is one of the more unusual gods of the ancient Egyptian world. Often depicted with the head of a frog, Kek was considered the deity of primordial darkness from which all existence arose."
Kek on 4Chan has its origins in World of Warcraft. Did Chad put the two together? Maybe.

You're essentially correct. Just one thing to note though. While the shilling intensified dramatically in February 2021, they actually launched their attack against 4chan shortly before they set those those subreddits up - while the silver propaganda was in full swing on the wallstreetbets subreddit. Related to that, I saw this gem recently:
>>/biz/thread/S26743144
>January 27th 2021
>So with all the news of GME. I see people on reddit are talking about shorting silver. I am just a loser from /pol/. How exactly would this work? What are the impacts? How dose this effect my boomer grandfalther who has thousands in physical silver coins.
I remember many such threads. It was very intertwined with GME content; the shills you described often mentioning GME or wallstreetbets or just reddit in general.

Stumbled on that by accident recently. But that's just one of countless other posts like it. Here's a search showing OP posts only, January 25th to Feb 5th, the time period where that shilling really took off: >>/biz/?task=search2&ghost=true&search_text=gme+silver+squeeze&search_subject=&search_username=&search_tripcode=&search_email=&search_filename=&search_datefrom=2021-01-25&search_dateto=2021-02-05&search_media_hash=&search_op=op&search_del=dontcare&search_int=dontcare&search_ord=new&search_capcode=all&search_res=post

Those were all I had for now. Most are just ones containing the words "fuck gold" so one could search for other words. Will maybe take more screenshots later, a different day. It's a pity wakarimasen died because if it was up one would easily be able to find much more (there's a huge gap of time in which warosu wasn't archiving but wakarimasen was, and archived.moe hasn't archived everything that wakarimasen was archiving).

Pretty based, silver does kill vampires. Gold does not. I don't attack gold, but don't see it as useful as a short against the bankers as silver. Silver is needed by many industries for technology (military, medical and aerospace) they pay big money and need it and have unlimited government money to buy it.

Lots of gold out there, it's nice, but not as needed as silver is.
