Chase Sapphire Preferred, Amazon Prime Visa, Citi Double Cash, and an old Chase Freedom that's a junk drawer card.

Don't think I really need another card with this setup.

I get so much cash back from the Amazon Prime card using it at both Whole Foods and Amazon.

Is there any feasible reason why I shouldn't just debtmaxx and apply for credit card after credit card and then lie about injuries and weasel my way into paying the minimum possible monthly installment and then get my credit repaired and start all over again?

I got nothin' to lose.

Its free money. It makes no sense not to do it honestly. Its spending you would have to do anyway to live. You can usually churn 5 or 6 cards a year. That is another $1200 to $3000 depending on your monthly spending. That's almost one whole month of expenses free for the average person.

One of the reward categories on the card is 5x points (5 points for every dollar spent) at office supply stores like Staples or Office Depot/Office Max (ODOM). These stores often (monthly) run promotions selling Visa and Mastercard gift cards with no activation fee, effectively rewarding you for buying cash equivalents, which you can use to pay off your credit card statement or pay for anything else you might like.

The points are Chase Ultimate Rewards (UR) which are the most valuable transferable currency offered by any bank, hotel or airline.

The points can be redeemed for 1 cent per point minimum always making the card at minimum 5% cash back on anything you can buy a gift card for (basically everything) at an office supply store. The UR points can also be transferred out to partners like Singapore Airlines, World of Hyatt etc for greatly elevated rates, often 5 cents per point or more, meaning you can effectively get enormous cash back rates when you redeem your points for travel. Chase also had a program called Pay Yourself Back which allowed you to redeem points for elevated value (1.1-1.5cpp) on common categories like dining, groceries, utilities etc

The signup bonus for the no annual fee Ink cards has historically been between 75k UR for $7500 spend in three months, to 90k UR for $6000 spend in three months, which is massive.

Nice! Those cards cover a lot of my usual expenses and I get the most value from them.

I got the Chase Sapphire Preferred really just to take advantage of the 90K point in branch offer. I'm actually thinking about downgrading it to a no fee Chase card before the annual fee date comes up.

I was looking at the Venture X as well. Compared to the Chase Sapphire Reserve and AMEX Platinum, that one seemed to give the best value with the $300 travel credit that offsets the annual fee. I might try to apply for it next year, though I hear it's a pretty tough card to get approved for. I also wish there was a Capital One lounge in my area, but that's not going to be a thing considering my local airport is tiny.

That's...actually pretty clever. Sounds like the easiest way to tack up on those UR points on a no fee card. Might have to look into that Chase Ink Cash card down the line.

Wells Fargo Active Cash (2% cashback on all purchases) is my daily driver.

>> No.56071236

Just got the Chase Ink Preferred and using it for all my bills to get the juicy sign-ups bonus. I mostly use the American express Blue Cash Preferred for 6% back on groceries and the Bank of America cash rewards that allows you to get 3% back on online purchases. Bank of America sucks though.

>> No.56071370

>American express Blue Cash Preferred for 6% back on groceries

Wow never seen past 5%. That's solid. I'm assuming that category counts for beyond food and includes hygiene and cleaning products? Virtually anything you can buy at a grocery store?

>> No.56071741

>>56071370
The card has a $95 annual fee and a $6k cap on the grocery category. It's objectively worse for groceries than other cards like the Citi Custom Cash or AAA Daily Advantage if that's all you use it for.

It also earns 6% back on a VERY broad "streaming" category, which is more like an "internet services" category. I know anything you can bill through Google Play/Apple Play etc gets 6% cash back which is pretty damn good for some people. Buying stuff like PPV through ESPN+ also counts as streaming. It's pretty handy.

The card also earns a decent 3% on gas and transit (Uber, parking garage, train tickets, etc but not airlines)

Yes, anything product you buy from a grocery chain i.e. Kroger, Publix, Wegman's etc will count. Costco/Walmart will not.

The cashback can be redeemed for statement credit only.

AmEx offers are really good and will probably save you a few bucks at least to help you offset the AF.

All of the AmEx "Blue" cards are excellent.

>> No.56071841

>>56071741

I'm assuming internet services doesn't include the internet bill itself? That sucks about the annual fee. The 6% would probably pay it off within 3-4 months.

Right now I'm going to start flipping cards for their spend bonus. Its effectively going to be getting like nearly 10% all my spending each month for me if I spam the sign up bonus cards. I could easily get $1200 back in a year from churning cards.

I wish a service existed that helped automate the process to ensure you get sign up bonuses for banks and credit cards.
