inflation. even "deflationary" lockups for crvusd hinge on inflation dumps. i.e. not all recipients of crv inflation will hypothecate into crvusd so the economy built around crvusd still faces inflationary sell pressure.
the token accrues value for holders mostly via bribes, so if you want your bet to pay off you have to use crv as a conduit for bribe revenue or you will get fucked by inflation waiting for sustained outsized buy liq to cycle into crv for whatever reason even then your rewards get reduced because you're not a whale, and you can get seriously fucked locking up off cycle.
you're at the mercy of huge mercenary capital that has several means and incentives to deploy crv for revenue aside from numbergoup. cvxcurve gives you slightly better odds because the lockups are shorter, but even then the bet is that you will be liquid and the peg will be high when you can sell
