The current bubble is an index bubble. The reason mega caps have been unstoppable for 10+ years now is the rise in popularity of indexing.

Unimaginable amounts of money have flown into market cap weighted indexes which creates a loop of higher and higher demand for companies with high market cap. What happens when Boomer Normie gives Vanguard his savings to put in an index? Most of it goes into buying Apple, Amazon, Google, Microsoft etc.

Remember covid, remember how the market dumped and then after the stimmy checks all the mega caps went up like a rocketship?

How long can this go on though? The buying pressure is self enforcing and all is good during a bull run, but what happens when we hit the next -50% and normies get scared and decide to withdraw their savings for indexes? Then you will have the same self enforcing cycle but in reverse.

We're basically sitting on an index ticking time bomb. Whatever way you decide to invest in the following years just make fucking sure it's not cap weighted. If you MUST have shit like Apple in your portfolio at least underweight it.

there is a temperature gauge in the instrument cluster for an reason. as long as your radiator and goolant system is working you will not have overheat problems. with the engine. now you can certainly overheat and warp your brakes if you go riding them down a very long steep hill instead of using a lower gear.

It takes more fuel for you to drive to the store and pick up your week's groceries than is spent shipping them all the way around the world, twice.
The global supply chain is incredibly efficient. You would have to purchase 50 packs - full packs, not individual apple sauce containers - in a single grocery trip to even come close.

Just take a second and try to imagine how many apple sauce packs fit into a single container, one container out of thousands on a single ship.
Even the cross-country freight trucking leg ends up consuming more energy, per item.

It's not really bolted to all that much, but even the bolts don't matter when you're pushing it to 110% and the transmission locks up because you're pulling a sled that's putting more and more weight on the rear wheels. >Maritime transportation accounts for 80% of cross-border world trade, as measured by volume. The nature of water transport and its economies of scale make it the most energy-efficient mode since it uses only 7% of all the energy consumed by transport activities, a figure way below its contribution to the mobility of goods. Still, fuel consumption is an important input in maritime shipping, which is related to ship design (hydrodynamics), utilization level, operational speed, idle time (waiting at ports), and even weather conditions. For terminal operations, figures vary, but a container terminal usually has 70% of its energy consumption provided by fossil fuels (e.g. yard equipment) and 30% by electricity (e.g. portainers).

I'm too lazy to do or find the fuel efficiency math right now, but here's a quick graphic to show the scale of these ships. One TEU is essentially one basic sized container, 8 by 20 feet and 8 feet tall.
You can fit approximately 100 apple sauce cups within a cubic area of 1 foot, weighing ~30 pounds. That's 128k per container. Panamax is a popular size, so lets take a baseline 4k TEUs or a theoretical total of around 500 million cups of applesauce on one ship. Enough to give the whole country a snack for a day.

I forgot the pic.

Anyway enjoy some more math:
The distance from Argentina to Thailand and back to California ports is approximately 20000 miles. These ships tend to float at around 25 miles per hour, putting the entire journey at a bit over a month (33 days of travel time). This is a pretty vague estimate since it'd depend on the specific route taken, and the weather.
The typical panamax fuel burn is around 63k gallons per day.
Total consumption = 2.1 million gallons.

Fuel consumption per fruit cup = 0.0042 gallon, or approximately 1.5 cents worth.

OP pic as a bad thing are so misguided (and dumb)
If it wasn't more efficient, cost savings, increased profit, why else would it be done this way?
Every company (every "economic agent") is seeking to maximize their profits. If it wasn't more efficient to do it this way, it would be done another way. If there was less fuel, less overall resources spent to do it another way, it would be done that way
I genuinely don't understand how people look at this and think anything other than the above
