Guys remember that gold is money and silver was money when it was scarce. Nobody should stay 100% in money even if it's nice and shinny because in the long run the value either stays the same or slightly decrease. It's OK to have some for hedging or if you think something big is about to happen but don't make erroneous financial decisions just to stick it to the man.

I think a quick perusal of metals that are too small a market to be contained by the derivatives market give us a glimpse into what can happen. Rhodium and Palladium both have some runaway charts that should have all of us very hopeful for the future. Not just in Silver but literally every useful, value-dense material we can dig up that will not spoil. By no means should people go crazy, but my Te is going to make my life extra comfy 20-30 years down the line.

retard here, when hyper inflation hits or some sort of crash happens where the middle class is destroyed and lose everything, how do we convince the desperate public that hard assets such as gold, silver, land is the way to go and not some computer central digital currency that would be a continuation of the debt system?

if the majority buy into a digital only system doesn't that make us even more fucked for PMs? We are sort of relying on the general public to make a protest and choice to go back to metals and hard assets that the FED and faggot elites can't print, and for the desperate confused public to refuse a digital system

its bit of a long shot, not even trying to fud gold and silver, how would this affect the price of PMs if a central digital only currency happens? Will there be major push back, or compliance? Both?

Maybe a surface digital system for the public that complies, and a underground barter/black market with precious metals, food, and general trade?

im just thinking out loud, i don't think a total mad max scenario is possible, they want society to keep on, but they want to make it bad enough to get people desperate to accept any solution to stay comfortable

>In 2022, the major applications of tellurium were thin-film solar cells (40%), thermoelectrics (30%), metallurgy (15%), and rubber (5%), with the first two applications experiencing a rapid increase owing to the worldwide tendency of reducing dependence on the fossil fuel.[39][9] In metallurgy, tellurium is added to iron, stainless steel, copper, and lead alloys. It improves the machinability of copper without reducing its high electrical conductivity. It increases resistance to vibration and fatigue of lead and stabilizes various carbides and in malleable iron.[9]
> Synthetic rubber vulcanized with tellurium shows mechanical and thermal properties that in some ways are superior to sulfur-vulcanized materials.[57][56]
> Tellurium compounds are specialized pigments for ceramics.[22]
> Selenides and tellurides greatly increase the optical refraction of glass widely used in glass optical fibers for telecommunications.[58][59]
> Mixtures of selenium and tellurium are used with barium peroxide as an oxidizer in the delay powder of electric blasting caps.[60]
> Neutron bombardment of tellurium is the most common way to produce iodine-131.[61] This in turn is used to treat some thyroid conditions, and as a tracer compound in hydraulic fracturing, among other applications.
>Cadmium telluride (CdTe) solar panels exhibit some of the greatest efficiencies for solar cell electric power generators.[62]
>In 2018, China installed thin-film solar panels with a total power output of 175 GW, more than any other country in the world; most of those panels were made of CdTe.[9] In June 2022, China set goals of generating 25% of energy consumption and installing 1.2 billion kilowatts of capacity for wind and solar power by 2030. This proposal will increase the demand for tellurium and its production worldwide, especially in China, where the annual volumes of Te refining increased from 280 tonnes in 2017 to 340 tonnes in 2022.
Te chads are winning.

And better than that : inflation destroys old money, i.e. debts (public and private) and savings, two things the government wants to get rid of. While giving an unfair advantage to new money. Lemme explain because it may not be obvious, but when it's fresh off the press, new cash needs to have been spent at least once by several economic actors (newly acquired velocity) before the now diluted existing fiat pool gets impacted, thus creating prices' inflation in reaction. But who are the first actors able to spend freshly printed money? The ones creating it of course, i.e. the government (to finance it's deficit spendings) and the banks.
Always more cash chasing the same amount of goods is only a problem for the ones unable to get their hands on more cash.

Money printing is like banks/gubment stealing cash straight from your pocket, spending it at the nearest restaurant, then instead of trashing the bill, they put it back in your pocket. Then they burp at your face and tell you to be a responsible man with your savings kek.

>>56041010

Exactly kek. It depends of many variables, but usually inflation is delayed by few months after the new pool of cash is spent for the first time. So it's few months where (((they))) get to enjoy printing/spending with none of the side effects. Only us the plebs get impacted by it.

And you'll see, as the economic situation further degrade, they will delay the announcement of new rounds of money printing always more. Up to the point where they will (discretly) announce it weeks AFTER it was done, rather than before. It has always ended up like this historically.

Deflation is a weird concept for me. If inflation is the purchasing power of your dollar going down due to an excess supply of money…then deflation would be like…purchasing power goes up due to a shortage of money, or excess of goods. But I don’t really get how banks are affected. I’ll need a qrd.

Here are some actual examples:

Russia, 1996-1999: Cumulative inflation could have exceeded 200% in this period. A 1,000,000 ruble loan in 1996 could effectively be worth around 330,000 rubles by 1999 in real terms.

Ukraine, 1993-1996: With a cumulative hyperinflation reaching several thousand percent, a loan of 1,000,000 hryvnia in 1993 could become almost entirely negligible in real terms by 1996.

Belarus, 1995-2000: With cumulative inflation exceeding 500% in this period, a 1,000,000 Belarusian ruble loan in 1995 could be worth less than 200,000 rubles in real terms by 2000.

Romania, 1990-1995: Cumulative inflation over this period could easily exceed 1,000%. A 1,000,000 lei loan in 1990 would be worth less than 100,000 lei in real terms by 1995.

>Good time to buy in my estimation.
Pretty decent indeed, the mix of recently tamped down prices + return of low premiums make it interesting, especially for silber.

I thought we would see some financial fireworks in August, as summer is usually a very stressful period for western banks (due to western nations bleeding hundreds of billions USD from all the wagies going in vacation at the same time and spending their savings in the southern hemisphere, it create a huge transfert of cash and a vacuum effect).
But in truth it was surprising (awfully) quiet. And market stability is not bullish for PMs, thus probably why the prices are slowly creeping down.
Yet, just looking at the numbers, you'd think we are in the middle of a cataclysmic maelstrom. CC debt for one (surpassed $1T in the US for the first time ever, 2/3rd of mutts admitting it was either to buy groceries or because of small unexpected events.. which is very grim), abysmal savings rates (lowest ever), or the bond market imploding due to extreme lack of confidence in abilities to repay sovereign debt at the current rates...

Everything is flashing bright red, the "you vill own nozing and be happy" is already a reality for most, and nothing happens. Are we in the eye of the can-kicking's storm?

The public debt is exploding like never before (+1T per Quarter), partially from the coupons we have to pay to bondholders. Where will the government find the money to your opinion? New taxes (hard to levy when 60% of your pop is CC debtmaxxed and with zero savings) and cuts in the budget (with dems in charge and before the elections? no way lol) wont even make a dent.

Why do you think we are struggling to find foreign investors to purchase our treasuries even though even the short maturity ones (thus low risk) we issue have super juicy coupon rates not seen since before the GFC?

Now it seems every normie do it to buy funkopops or go to a fancy restaurant they can't afford..

It remind me of the writings of a roman historian. I don't remember word for word but basically he explains how corruption trickle down from the top to the bottom. If your government and elites are corrupt and degenerates who abandon ethics and morals, it will eventually influence the plebs, who will mimic them. And when you reach this phase, your civilization is bound to collapse soon.
And i can't think of anybody more indebt, spending more frivolously, and for the most retarded shit money it doesn't have than our government.
I guess it took it's tool on the plebeians.
>If sky daddy government do it, then i probably should do it too!

Only the ppl with morals and a strong will are GMI. /pmg/ shelter many frens of this kind, and i'm glad to be part of one of the last bastion of common sense in this retarded clown-monde.

So there is apparently no practical 'kill switch'.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_kill_switch

Excerpts:

"The Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act of 2010 expired at the end of the 2009–2010 Congress without receiving a vote from either chamber."

"There are several issues that may prevent a system to be established in the United States. The Telecommunications Act of 1996 deregulated the telecommunications market and allowed for the growth of data carrier services. Since the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) does not require registration of a company as an Internet service provider (ISP), there are only estimates available based on publicly available data. The FCC estimated in April 2011 that there were over 7,800 ISPs[17] operating in the United States. This makes implementation of a kill switch that much more difficult: each company would have to voluntarily comply. There is no law that gives the United States authority over an ISP without a court order."

"A court order is not necessarily the solution either. Even if an ISP is forced by court order, the attack may have already taken place and the prophylactic methods too late in implementing. There are thousands of ISPs and since they do not have to register, there is no known way of contacting them in time and forcing the ISP to comply."

>> No.56045335

>>56045259
>each company would have to voluntarily comply
but what makes you think they havent already done so? TLAs have been in bed with the telcoms for a long time, and not just them but the hardware manufactures as well. There would be no need for a court order if they could just do without it and claim ignorance after the fact or just cover it up all together.

But as I pointed out, this 1942 law makes it a grey area and while it wouldn't shut down the internet (because the internet is just a series of connections), it will cripple systems like crypto currency by labeling them as terrorist tools by the state. The ultimate goal is to send decentralized crypto currency into the black market so the state can promote its CBDC as 99% of the population would rather trade in the white market rather than the black market. That's just the reality of the human species and the states around the world know it.

>this 1942 law makes it a grey area
I understood. And in 2010 there was an attempt to clarify this grey area, and it seems it has become so decentralized and administratively so chaotic that it basically didn't matter: there's no practical way they can accomplish a shutdown because the Internet in the west has no central hub that they control. the 1942 law has been rendered moot through sheer variety of communication options. For instance Ma Bell was broken up in 1983, so that destroyed the central control of telephony.

Absolutely it's out of government control, but my point is that if the government decides that it can't control decentralized crypto, then it will pass laws to make trade in it illegal, pushing it into the realm of the black market. I've been looking into buying some more land too.
When my parents were young, there was all kind of land available in big quantities for what compared to today were dirt cheap prices, on what is now considered prime land (forested land, mountain forest land. mountain views, water views, clean views, no trash, privacy, seclusion, clean fresh air, etc,)
All that land is all owned now. and only occasionally a small piece comes up for sale at astronomical prices.
so if i see a piece of land available near me for a reasonable price that is affordable to me today. i am very tempted to buy all i can.
land is the only thing they are not making any more of.

I guess it depends on where they connect to. If all their traffic is routed through pozzed places like Germany, Netherlands, etc. they're at the mercy of those globohomo governments. Most of western Europe is fucked. Maybe the eastern countries have more options.
Of course there's other options like satellite and HAM radio, but you need to already have the gear. I have no experience with using these for networking, but from what I heard, HAM is very slow for data, like 9600 baud or something. Good luck doing crypto blockchain stuff on that.

Remember the PROMIS software? The PTECH software was it's heir, but on giga-steroid. Imagine if a single intelligent software from a "private company" was used by all government's organizations (they had the highest clearance level for the CIA + NSA + DoD + FBI + NRO + white house + DARPA + NORAD +..) and had a backdoor with the ability to download, delete, filter, modify all sensitive files in their databases.
And that all these infos were gathered and churned by a prediction machine.
This was the centralizing index for the (((deep state))). Giving the ability to few people to anonymously control every branch of the US government just sitting behind a computer.
If you want to understand how the deepstate operate in the internet era, and how incredibly centralized it truly is, Ptech is one of the most important key. And it was back in 2001.

>is it ever worth it to buy fractionals?
Depends on your budget, which fractional, and ultimately what the spot and premium are. LMU coins are very often sold for just a couple of percent above spot, and US gold coins are typically way above spot. For some coins, that premium will always remain. So either there's no premium when you sell, or you recoup it. Personally, I don't buy less than quarter ounce coins: the designs are simply too tiny to see on anything smaller. My favorite is the ounce, but I can't always afford that much at once. Sometimes I purchase a coin that has a higher premium on speculation it may increase in numismatic value, or I simply like the pattern too much to let it pass by. I bought a raw nugget because I wanted an example of what gold can look like right from nature.

I'm doing good, honestly I have gold and silver sitting in a safe that I haven't touched in years, not worried about minor fluctuations, in fact I am mildly bearish on silver and gold in US dollar terms because I think the US will keep their rates higher for longer than the rest of the world will be able to. If we see the EU begin cutting rates before the US then I bet silver and gold get smashed as the US dollar pumps, additionally there is a potential world recession coming that will lower demand for industrial silver.

That's my thesis at least and I could be wrong, of course I also think the US will eventually also cave and start cutting rates eventually and that's when we really see silver and gold run.

Get a safe made of STEEL that has a mechanical combination lock ONLY. Law enforcement can confiscate keys and ANY LOCK CAN BE PICKED. Brute forcing a good combination lock takes days even with specialized equipment. Also bolt it to the floor, that's mandatory. It's important to understand that the purpose of a safe is to buy you time during a robbery and force a robber to make noise and possibly trigger alarms. If a robber can get in and out with your stuff quietly, that's no good. Any safe can be broken into eventually, but if the robber has to wake you up from a dead sleep with their power tools, you can interrupt him with your shotgun or if you have an alarm, your fat cunt police can show up at their leisure and arrest the robber after they shoot your dog.
>Steel
>Combination lock
>Bolt to floor
Expect to pay about $500 for a decent safe, which is nothing if you're stashing $20k to $40k worth of valuables. Picture related is able to be insured for $20k.

The most reliable safe is one that requires you to unhinge multiple doors in order to deposit it into the deepest room in your house. Force them to confiscate the entire thing or risk burning down your house by cutting it open in place. But it's still not going to slow them down much if they're determined to nail you to the wall. A safe is really only meant as an inconvenience to your average basketball-american. The feds won't care.
