it would cost me about 350 a month if i pay 11k upfront, I could pay 20k upfront and it would be about 220 a month.

If your old car is working why would you waste money on a new one? Ride in the one you’re in until you can’t anymore. It’s like you want to be poor while looking rich (and gay).

Even if I assume you are a car enthusiast, are maxing all your retirement accounts, and have no other debt buying a car that costs more than half your annual salary is ridiculous

no, they're dogshit cars at that price point. low end fit and finish, shitty interiors, lots of bullshit issues that you shouldn't have with a car that price.

Get a lower end honda or toyota. Ideally get a used car. EVs are probably 4-5 years from being in a place where it's actually a good choice for most people at the absolute minimum.

Buy it and sell it to a thirdie for 2k more to account for the subsidy that they don't get. That's what Tesla themselves do in Germany. They get a subsidy per every new car, so they offer their customers to give them a new car after a year and resell the old car in some shithole for pretty much full price.

I would say this is based, but buying a used tesla means you'll get a shitty battery that needs replacing and costs way more than the car will be worth. Its not the same as buying a used gas car, but I guess that's the point of EVs - selling new vehicles, because used ones are worthless

TLDR: just buy a 2yo gas car

You can see in the stats how it was used.
If it was always DC charging to 100% yeah it's shit.
But always AC charging to 80% it will be perfectly fine.

I'm just listing the worst case and best case.
Any EV just AC charging at home even to 100% will be fine. With some occasional fast charging too.

Meanwhile the ICE VW I lease had to get the waterpump changed, piston replaced, AC changed, small fortune in gas cost. All from a car from 2017 with 90k kilometers.

What you're saying is, the range is even worse, because youre only supposed to charge it to 80%.
And of course you're not supposed to completely empty the battery.
And they also lose 1%-2% of charge per day by just standing arond
No wonder they have to constantly cut prices to find willing buyers

Embrace the bikemaxxing op lifestyle . You're not realistically able to afford that car and you know. You will be placing an immense strain on your economy projection for the next 5 or more years. If you ride a bike to work and to nearby places not only do you save money, you also work out and embrace the healthy lifestyle.
