the cure to inflation is rate hikes, which are inextricably tied to rising unemployment. do you or do you not want inflation to subside? don't tell me you fell for the "soft landing" meme.

Labor participation rate is more important than unemployment, unemployment numbers are so doctored and revised you can never trust them.

>what's that goy? Haven't applied to a job for the past four weeks? Well I guess you really just don't want to work badly enough, we won't count you among the unemployed
>what's that goy? Cost of living so high you have to work two full-time jobs? That's great! we'll just go ahead and count you as two employed people then

how else do they jew these numbers?

as long as it doesn't hit you - the country could use a nice pull back.

Part time jobs are also counted as full time jobs.
If you're actively looking for a job that fits your experience while you're underemployed at Starbucks, you don't count as unemployed.

Also the real news that is being hidden from you is the fact that payroll figures are revised downward every month. July's added jobs was like 250k, revised downward to 175 last month and was just revised downward to 130k. The Dept of Commerce is creating propaganda figures to show the economy is "fine" and then revising the measures a few months later with no fanfare.

Its also seasonally adjusted, meaning they can correct it however they want to during any time of the year for any reason they can point to that might smooth out the numbers.
I'm not sure how it counts visas, seasonal work permits, or non-citizens; but these are people not counted in our census who might be artificially improving unemployment numbers.

I trust these numbers to a certain degree, we never recovered from 2008 and we haven't recovered from covid either. 'Unemployment' is such a useless metric when the feds define it.
