you can't mint more XRP after it's been burned but you can send XRP+ to a wallet on Xahau and give people trustline tokens on mainnet, which can be exchanged for xrp/stablecoins/etc

obviously there are issues here- they'll have to bootstrap liquidity, and keep it pegged somehow- triggering a tulipmania frenzy with high yield defi and moonshot shitcoins would be one way to do that.

but that still doesn't address the question of dealing with stuff like the arbitrage attacks that fucked Flare Finance's stablecoin CAND- if you make it too easy to convert back to regular stables/XRP, then people will drain the liquidity and your sidechain network will fail.

perhaps focusing on the convertability between XRP+ and XRP going from sidechain to mainnet is the wrong way to approach the question. the key, i think, would be incentivizing in-flow and disincentivizing out-flow without cutting it off entirely. because if the sidechain is hermetically sealed, it has no value, except to the extremely niche community of XRPL devs who want a testbed environment for Hooks and other XRPL amendments that aren't on mainnet yet. in order to have value, it has to have value flowing both ways. but you can't have more value flowing out than in.

to me the logical way to accomplish that would be some kind of sliding fee scale where if you take your money off too fast you pay heavier fees, and reward people for providing liquidity for longer, etc- maybe some kind of smart contract where you can exchange your $10+profits for mainnet XRP now for a $7.50 fee, or in a month for $0.75 fee, or something?

the question as i see it is ultimately what the objective of xahau is. is it meant to be a neat toy, or something with real-world utility?
