27 y/o, have $10,000 to my name plus $20,000 in "retirement" account.
I work in a basically minimum wage job without many prospects of career progression.

Even though I'm poor, I'm sick of having a boss tell me what to do, and hate having to show up to a shitty job for 9 hours a day.

Does anyone have any advice on how to escape this normie shitlow hell? Has anyone been in a similar situation and succeeded in getting out of it?

Sure you can take risks, but you're sacrificing your health as well as your monies. All it takes is one stroke of bad luck to force you to liquidate your positions at an unfavourable price point.
It's not just about engaging in risk but also about the resulting learning from the mistakes you made and finding a proper method to manage your finances.
You said you're young and therefore can take risks but you could also use this time to start building a medium risk porfolio and have a greater chance to achieve more freedom in the future.
Or you work towards finding a more fulfilling/better paying job
