You're posting a psyop you fucking moron. Cereal for breakfast is a psyop, bacon and eggs is a cheap farmers breakfast that carried over into urbanization where some people moved from labor to office jobs. Still eating bacon and eggs and not performing physical labor lead to slower digestion and stomach problems with bacon. Then Kelloggs came out with cereal (they literally feed corn and milk slop to pigs) as an alternative to bacon because it's "easier on the digestive system" (and far more profitable for the company). As long as you work out or already have a physical job, bacon and eggs is one of the best breakfasts you can get.

I usually make sure to check on the artisan when i come across what i believe to be remarkable pieces, but i most likely would have put this one immediately in the melt pile without a second thought.
Very good for you my scrapfren. Your intuition is very sharp and reward you awesomely, literally 3 min. wage days' pay done in a well inspired minute!

On my end, nothing too fancy today. I won this little .950 spoon from 1810 weighting 27gr for 5€, which is nice, and more interesting, this lot of silver coins (next post) for 44€, worth 70€ in melt and with a sought after 50F Hercules. Pretty comfy!

Don't pay more than 1.5% to 3% over spot. Recent Maple Leaf and Britannia are safe bets.

I would buy silver/gold in a 1:1 ratio, if one moons, sell some of it and buy the other to reset the ratio. Always act anticyclic and trust the reversion to the mean.
The PMs together could be balanced against stocks too, but for that you need lower ratios than 19:1 aka 95% stocks to 5% PMs, maybe more 60% to 40%, but that is risky.
If you also hold a risk free amount of fiat or bonds, it might be better to balance against that 1:1.
I for one don't have enough to balance anything yet, maybe 80k in stocks, 20k cash and 12k in PMs.
Tell us what you decide on and why.

Investing in the one thing humans have valued consistently since prehistory.

Even Land is more volatile. It can be taken away, polluted, destroyed. Owning land depends on your being part of a polite society that recognizes land titles and ownership, and has mechanisms to enforce it. All that vanishes like a fart in the wind if your society dies or is mortally ill. And don’t get me started on fiat currency.

feel free to skip, just me bitching about housing

well my stacking is coming to a complete halt.
i'm being sent to WA (military orders) and the area's rent for a "not complete shithole" is north of 1500, more like 2000. for an actual decent place 2500.
i'm going to be there for four years so i figure i'll just buy a "cheap" house around 300k so i can have something to show for my time. by the time i leave i can try to pay about 40%, refinance, and rent it out until it's paid off. hell i'd still try to pay it off early because i hate the idea of being in debt and this will be my first time. i've bought everything in my life cash, even my car and trailer i used to live in.
>buying a house in 2023
i know, trust me.
renting just feels like such a waste. nearly an ounce of gold a month and nothing to show after four years though.
if housing market crashes i could still pay down the loan until i leave then rent for a break even at least.

military housing is often subpar quality duplexes and works in a shitty way.
so we get a housing allowance, mines about $2500/month. they will take all of it, so i'm
essentially paying $2500 for housing on a base that's incredibly gun restricted. it's a nuclear missile base so they take everything serious. i was first stationed on that base 14 years ago. i had a duck hunting enthusiast friend that had a spent shotgun shell in the back of his truck. security freaked out and shut down base traffic for about two hours.
something like that happens maybe once a month.

also for the rent, if they can't fill houses they can rent to civilians. civilians wind up paying substantially less than military. at my last station it came to about $900 a month less. so it's literally not worth it.

I don't know for the JBLM area (Pierce County), but in Seattle (King Cty.) the annual RE tax is just a bit over 1%. So you'll owe another $3k every year on that house. Then there's insurance because you don't own it. Another $500?
I'm sure Pierce rates will be slightly lower, but it's hard to get a straight answer from their web sites.

thanks for looking for me, fren
i found some tiny hovels that aren't fixer uppers for about 300k which is the most attractive. easy to rent when i get out.
my idea is i'll rent to military only. because of those renters rights laws, it's too easy for methheads to move in and then quit paying rent.
at least with military i can harass their command.

The ellipsis is meant as a guide to follow the train of thought you started.
"i speak ... not for all of us"
That is, your interpretation of what "FUD" means might be endemic to your perspective. I offered my own as proof there are alternatives, and that speaking up for gold (even if playing down silver's role) in protecting a portfolio is not a FUD, nor is advocating for gold prohibited, as it too is a PM.

fractional and novelty gold are often not worth it. even goldbacks, which i stack many of, are not worth it. of course, if you like it and want it, and can absolutely afford it; go for it.
but if you're just stacking for weight and DCA then no.
save up, buy a government minted coin with a low premium and good security marks.

I guess combibars have less premiums than buying 1 gram pieces. So if you really want fractional, that might be a decent way.
Actually I just checked and if you buy a 100g combibar, it's very close to the same price/gram of a 1 oz coin.
And damn, price of gold has really gone up! Random year krugerrands are now 1850 euros, that's over 50 more than earlier this month. Good thing I loaded up before the BRICS thing.

I have been accused of that, possibly by you.
All I'm saying: don't buy high premium semi-numismatics, you will not get your money back. And have your other investments in order first, that includes an emergency fund, maxed out 401k/roth or whatever there is where you live. Then, finally, go to commodities like PMs.
And most important, don't listen to the schizos that spout "silver will moon to three digits in the next two weeks", their theories are shit (literally based on a death-bed-confession) and they don't understand what "bad-news-bias" and "post factum rationalization" is.

Because you pay more over spot, the smaller the amount of gold is. For example, you pay 1.5% premium over spot for a Maple Leaf 1oz Gold coin. Selling it gives you spot, so you lose 1.5%. You need more than 1.5% market gains to make a profit.
With 1/10 oz you maybe have 20% premium over spot. You have to have 20% market gains before you are in the green.
1oz is the sweet spot.
Also, make a spread sheet and include shipping costs in your calculations. The guys that buy vanity silver coins conveniently forget that.

You are really clueless. Radiation from Uranium is almost entirely alpha particles. But I don't expect you to know that there are different kinds of radiation. Alpha particles will not penetrate skin or clothing. That's why it will only damage tissue when it it pressed up against it - like if you inhale it and it sits in your lungs.

But this if off topic and you are a dunce. So I will not post more.

If they can find it, they can dig it up and take it.

Confiscation doesn't work because people would rather throw it in the ocean than let the government take it. They would have to buy it at the current market price like they did during the original gold confiscation.
