Frens, do any of you have experience with debt consolidation? Can you get a balance transfer with 0% apr for a certain time? That's what I do, just keep swapping cc lender to cc lender. You have to pay an initial transfer fee of like 2% of the transfer amount.

Consolidating your debt is better than filing bankruptcy but it will slash (but not completely destroy) your credit.
If you go down this route, a few things will happen:
You will no longer make any payments to any loan/credit provider except for the debt agency you decide to go through.
The agency will take a specified amount of money bi-weekly/monthly from you and put it into a fund "pot".
Because you are no longer paying your debts, creditors will begin calling, emailing, mailing you about missed payments DO NOT RESPOND, direct them to you debt agent.
Your agency will take all calls from your creditors, it's their job to negotiate price agreements and settlements.
Usually, especially now that interest rates have increased, and because we live in a country that has over a trillion dollars worth of credit card debt, most creditors will settle for a lower payment to recoup losses.
You'll likely end up signing an E-docusign so you're legally obligated to pay the agent, this is the one thing you cannot afford to fuck up on, if you have to skip a week or month call them.

I've done it 6 times, not sure if there are limitations but I don't think so, and even if there were, you could always do a money transfer instead of a balance transfer and use it for the same thing (they don't know what you're doing with the money from a balance transfer if you say you need it for renovations). The only downside to this is that you need to have a good credit rating to do it.
