fuck bros, interest resumes tomorrow. Making $120k/yr and enrolled in the IDR SAVE plan. Should I try to reduce my AGI as much as possible for the next 25 years even though there is a high chance I'll be hitting $200k+ salary within that time or should I ask my parents to pay off my loans and pay them back at a 0% interest rate?

if you qualify for the SAVE program i believe so long as you pay the minimum, no new interest is added to your loan. there's still provisions i'm confused with such as how much this pays down the principal. i'll test the waters over the first month

max your 401k and hsa and literally anything else you can do to get your agi down...that's a lot of fucking loans and there is no way SAVE wont be subsidizing interest at that income

You should count your blessings that you will only have a $400 monthly payment on a $150k loan balance with a $120k salary. You essentially hit the student loan lottery. Honestly BS that your payment is so low.

In a just world you’d be paying at least a grand a month. Can’t wait until a Republican is elected in 24, reverses SAVE, and drains your monthly cash flow. It’s because of folks like you we have such inflation.

any interest above the minimum is subsidized. as long as youre making the minimum payment your effective rate is well below even 1% for the numbers you give

Imagine instead of saving up for a massive down payment on a house you instead choose to take on an equal amount of debt for a piece of paper that says you can regurgitate information well.

How does someone spend $160k on fucking grad school?

>> No.55996651 [DELETED]

Question if I took out a subsidized stafford loan in fall 2019, was in college full time continuously until spring 2022, and now I'm about to pay it off, how the fuck does it have interest on it?
Wasn't the interest supposed to be handled by the government while I was in school and then the rates have been set to zero since? Where the fuck did 10% interest on this thing come from?

$0.00

Don't worry you'll feel like a bigger retard when inflation causes prices to double again next year and biden tells you that's the price of democracy. LOL.
