I would maintain low unemployment and steady GDP growth while lowering inflation. To do this, I would lie to the public that I needed to increase unemployment and reduce GDP growth, in order to temper expectations and keep all the lines moving up, but at a sustainable rate compatible with decreasing inflation. I would then let markets cut loose and rally in the months leading up to the general election before dropping the hammer regardless of who the winner ended up being
