Because deflation. They are over doing it. China is in deflationary territory. Their economy is slowing and will soon be exporting deflation to the united states. HOLY CRAP. How exactly will they drive down inflation now? Producer prices will rise, driving in turn up inflation. I am so sick of paying $2.2 for a litre of gasoline... Oil used to be so cheap, with so many refineries. The tech is fuckin easy and ancient. The fact that they allow these high oil prices just shows that once again the middle and lower classes are the only losers. If they really wanted to, oil could easily cost $15.
I regret selling my oil last year (still nice gains though).
And now with the service inflation about to get updated (with annual parts being renewed soon to much higher prices), the inflation ain't looking good, bois. Plus, the comparison effect will make inflation look worse.
I really wouldn't want to be in Powel's position right now.

Oh no, I am blaming the US for this. The big corpos in conjunction with the politicians and banks have decided to hollow out the middle and lower classes ever since the 1970s. It's completely bull. We could easily have cheap electricity, cheap oil, cheap everything.
How was electricity cheaper in the past? Considering our technological advancements, we should keep having lower and lower prices and more and more available electricity, no?
But since inflation is good for the big shots, this will never stop. Since everything is percentage-based, it's always the one with more money that benefits the most. It's that simple.
I remember European banks stating that we will have an inflation of 2% by end of 2023. They now revised that to 2025... this is just stupid.

That's easy, m8. The older generations that actually have a house and/or properties massively benefitted from Corona. The ZIRP policy allowed them to refinance to insanely low levels, allowing them to save so much cash, thus effectively outpacing inflation. Plus, a lot of them already own houses (free of debt), which is even better. Inflation mostly affected rentoids (and massively so since rents really got out of hand). Younger generations are getting severely fugged (besides those skilled in tech or trades). And since the consumer consists of those with money, i.e., the older generations, the consumer hasn't really been that affected (or to such an extent as has been expected).
People in general either have way too much money or too little.
Everything is percentage-based so those that are older and have been in the biz for a longer time are getting way more in terms of wages. The average is being driven up, while the median is kind of stagnating. What does that tell you?
But since the newer generations don't really matter (purely statistically), the market will just continue pumping to keep up with the sentiment of the rich.

When the loan originates go up liquidity crisis as traditional lenders go bankrupt and no one wants to originate a new loan causing market wide deleveraging. You own nvda.. P/E prices in growth. Obviously Nvidia isn't going to grown in the next 10 years to match that P/E, but also there's been research done on the topic and basically what happens is when a new technology comes around the uncertainty spread about the future potential is massive.

Basically no one fucking knows how big AI will actually end up being 10 years from now, but you have to price in the possibility that it literally takes over the world. So what happens is the spread of outcomes is fucking massive and that gets discounted back to the present and you end up with a huge valuation.

As we progress through time and the uncertainty spread gets smaller and smaller the price will hone in around the "real" value of AI. But for now the P/E has to be huge because of that highly uncertain growth.

To be clear I wouldn't go long at this point, I would just stay away. The moment to buy was when the initial GPT mania happened. Now everything is priced in.

Another day. Glad I sold my HE once the news broke they weren't gonna do any restructuring (aka fancy term for asset sales). I figured the next move was the divvy ax. Knew once that happened the stock would fall like a rock. Sigh can't outrun the bill collectors anymore; hell got a damn bill notice on my phone today. What a shat. There I was asleep nice and relaxed at my desk and it got ruined by that ding sound on my phone as the message came in.
