do you know how many accounts blew up trying to bet against the boj? Why did we bounce today? Japan made a phone call to Powell last week and told him the same shit they said last October when the yen was about to crash every market to pandemic levels. Get your dogshit currency, the dollar, down

As a result, Powell delivered an incredibly dovish speech, tanking (or at least trying to) the dollar and yields. Powell could have absolutely crashed markets today if he wanted. But he didn't.

Suffice to say, its risk on. Powell and the bank of japan have your back

the question is if you think the data from here is going to get progressively better or worse, and I think everybody agrees it's going to get worse (bullish).

I don't think Macy's has ever really recovered from getting a new CEO years ago who was like "yeah fuck all those coupons that you're used to, we're just gonna have LOW prices every day!" then their sales went to shit because shoppers were like "I want my fucking coupons" because psychologically, they were conditioned to think no coupons = bad deal, not buying. Said CEO was fired within a year or two IIRC, but I don't think they ever truly came back from that. And I think big department stores like that are a dying breed anyhow.

If you're not in the "This is the big one" short camp, then the question is simply "How low does it go before it gets an impulse bounce", and looking at a dozen charts, this is the spot it bounces. Big negative gex rollover today as well as volatility crush due to lack of event risk should set a squeeze up into next week. I mean the SPY is down 6%, QQQ 8.5%, IWM 8.5%, BAKA 11%, that's a median garden variety pull back

Pattern Day Trading (PDT) is a designation given by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to traders who execute four or more day trades within a five-business-day period using a margin account. A day trade is defined as buying and selling (or selling short and then buying to cover) the same security on the same day. Becoming classified as a pattern day trader can have certain tax implications:

Capital Gains and Losses: Day trading involves frequent buying and selling of securities, which can lead to capital gains or losses. Any profits earned from day trading are considered capital gains and are subject to taxes. Short-term capital gains (gains from assets held for one year or less) are typically taxed at your ordinary income tax rate, which can be higher than the tax rate for long-term capital gains.

Wash Sale Rules: Traders need to be aware of the wash sale rule. This rule prevents traders from claiming a loss on the sale of a security if a "substantially identical" security is purchased within 30 days before or after the sale. While this rule is primarily intended for investors, it can impact day traders as well.

Tax Deductions: As a pattern day trader, you might be able to deduct certain trading-related expenses, such as platform fees, data subscriptions, and other direct costs associated with your trading activities. However, these deductions are subject to certain limitations and criteria set by the IRS.

Self-Employment Taxes: Pattern day traders who engage in trading as their primary source of income might be considered self-employed for tax purposes. This means they could be subject to self-employment taxes, which cover Social Security and Medicare taxes typically paid by employees and employers. Self-employed individuals are responsible for paying both sides of these taxes.

Record Keeping: Accurate record-keeping is crucial for day traders. You need to maintain detailed records of all your trades, including dates, quantities, prices, and any associated fees. This information will be essential for accurately calculating your gains, losses, and applicable taxes.

Estimated Quarterly Taxes: Since pattern day traders often do not have taxes withheld from their trading income, they are required to make estimated quarterly tax payments to the IRS. This helps you avoid penalties for underpayment of taxes throughout the year.

State Taxes: In addition to federal taxes, you'll need to consider any state-level taxes that apply to your trading activities.

Tax Treatment of Different Securities: Different types of securities (stocks, options, futures, cryptocurrencies, etc.) can have varying tax treatments. It's important to understand the specific tax rules for the securities you are trading.

It's highly recommended that pattern day traders consult a qualified tax professional or financial advisor who is well-versed in the tax implications of day trading. Tax laws can be complex and subject to change, and a professional can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation and trading activities.

Hell, that was the only reason I ever shopped at Macy's either, when they sent me 30% off coupons in the mail. I knew it was a shitty idea. Kohl's started restricting their coupons a few years ago as well and it's had a negative impact on their sales also. The ONLY reason people shop at places like that is when they have coupons so they think they're getting a bargain. Well, that and they can put purchases on a store credit card.

The premise of a bounce is contingent on an actual rotation, most likely led by value/defensives. If we do rally from here I do not think tech/semis will lead, nor should they. Today tech is the second worst performing sector, even after the NVDA blowout earnings. Leaders (excluding XLE/crude proxy): XLU, XLV, XLP. All defensives.

NVDA, AAPL, MSFT all produced new ATH meanwhile:

XLU: -20% from highs
XLP: -11% from highs
XLF: -19% from highs

For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeters, musicians and strange animals from conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conqueror rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children robed in white stood with him in the chariot or rode the trace horses. A slave, who bore a striking resemblance to late-2010s adult actress Piper Perri stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown, and whispering in his ear a warning: “You DID buy puts, didn’t you anon?”

Hey guys is my strategy retarded?
I’m investing about 1k a month into the stock market. $200 comes from a 75% yield dividend stock tsly. And another $200 from nvdy. I’m not dripping.

$500 comes from cash a month.

I have a 401k and still put away 1k into savings a month.
So with these high yields I’ll have made my initial buy in dividends in may. Provided Tesla doesn’t go bankrupt.

>no federal income taxes are only due 1 time a year
Provably incorrect. The IRS website has the facts.

Who Must Pay Estimated Tax?
>Individuals, including sole proprietors, partners, and S corporation shareholders, generally have to make estimated tax payments if they expect to owe tax of $1,000 or more when their return is filed.
The 1040-ES form used to calculate payments owed has a bit more detail:
>General Rule
>In most cases, you must pay estimated tax for 2023 if both of the following apply.
>1. You expect to owe at least $1,000 in tax for 2023, after subtracting your withholding and refundable credits.
>2. You expect your withholding and refundable credits to be less than the smaller of:
>a. 90% of the tax to be shown on your 2023 tax return, or
>b. 100% of the tax shown on your 2022 tax return
>If your adjusted gross income (AGI) for 2022 was more than $150,000 ($75,000 if your filing status for 2023 is married filing separately), substitute 110% for 100% in (2b)

Here are the current penalty interest rates charged for underpayment:

If you're wondering how you're supposed to pay now when you don't know whether you'll still have gains come December, the answer is that you can calculate profits realized within each quarter, and pay based on an annualized representation of those quarters. There are more complex sheets for calculating this. Most likely if you have already realized substantial gains though, it makes sense to just pay the standard quarterly tax bill which is annual / 4.
It should also be noted that our federal government uses a retarded definition of "quarter" such that the Spring quarter is only May/June, Q3 goes through August, and Q4 covers the last 4 months. Even though this is frontloaded, both methods of estimation will still result in matching calculations that require frontloading your payments.

Yet bobo's are rarer in numbers and one posted last thread with a positive value, not even a 1d or 1w chart either but a 1 month. So are mumu's just larping? Trying to trick us into buying? The only time you should maybe need/want tax help reporting trading gains is K-1s or wash sales involving multiple brokerages.
That's not to say it's hard to do yourself, but it's the only case you might fuck it up. Honestly even if you do fuck up reporting wash sales, most likely nothing happens. The IRS isn't scrolling through 200 pages of trade logs to see you traded the same ticker twice on separate brokerages unless they audit you.
Even then, the only type of wash sale that can really fuck you is a wash sale from shifting positions into an IRA. Normal wash sales just mean frontloading more taxes, with a tradeoff being future year tax losses.

You picked the worst example. French monarchy has a pretty stellar record of success. It happened because of the Lumières which was strongly anticlerical and antimonarchist, in other words they were anarchists hellbent on destroy both the absolute monarchy and the church. Anything else is just an excuse, you don't outlaw religion and start a reddit-tier Cult of Reason just because you don't like occasionally paying a 10% income tax. Cleanse your mind of anarchist propaganda, the French revolution was all about proto-redditors sperging out because muh equality, nothing to do with wealth whatsoever, everything to do with anarchist philosophy.

Same with Amerimutts, they hated the monarchy for philosophical reasons, not because of taxation. Look at how much taxes Americans pay now, fat load of good their revolution over taxation did them lmao.

Heh yeah but all the propaganda (especially targeting women) is against that so chances are men are going to get married in their 30s. If you don't like it then tell 20 year olds to marry eachother instead of fucking around with college and carriers.

Boomers made millenials a lost generation, and they likely will zoomers because they are still alive.
Boomer vampirism is unstoppable and insatiable.

The crabbing must occur, pauses have to be implemented so that the entire sell off doesn’t crash the markets right away. Look up SEC Rule 144, hopefully that will make sense of the slow but sure dump to Boboville.

The rich do because they can minimise taxation of there assets.

>>55940920
You are talking scenarios that only occur occasionally in bumfuck inner cities blighted by Niggers that have a population of cumsumer drones that produce no tangible assets. Rich people own assets and properties away from masses. Increase the monetary supply = asset increases fiscally as asset has demand. High inflation is a wealth transfer, comparing to weimar is fitting as they did that as a means to dodge the Versailles treaty and transfer paper over assets. Hence the French occupation of productive assets. Securing the means of productive of assets.

What I’m saying is interest rates at 6%+ for a decade.
