Step 4: After cashing out, scale into short positions, putting pressure on the bid in the order book to drive prices down, while building your short position. The reversal from the super strong 1%+ gap up creates a panic, where it is more scary that the market gapped up, and then reversed hard, than it is for it to just flatline and then dip
Step 5: Panicked traders, mainly retail, who entered shorts / puts get absolutely decimated by IV crush, the stock is not plus or minus 10%, so everyone loses money - the panicked option buyers sell their puts, sell their calls for pennies on the dollar, allowing market maker to unwind all positions, while making a fortune buying back and closing out positions for pennies
