That is a superb score fren, what fineness is the silver, is it patrician French .950? As you have observed those often have damage, especially big full size purses like yours. It looks clean but you can brighten it up by washing with dish soap to remove oils then dip it in silver jewelry/coin cleaning solution like E-Z-EST for several seconds. The aesthetics of the chip-carved hinged frame are quite superior too, that piece is easily worth $250+. Keep up the good work!

That is just labeling to exploit the legal loophole which allowed the OTC sale of otherwise prescription-only medications. The pills/capsules inside are legit generic brand pharmaceuticals made for human consumption, the same as what you'd get at any pharmacy. For anons who value being prepared for disasters, as recently observed in the Maui wildfires which made access to needed medicines impossible, having some antibiotics in one's bug-out-bag is unassailably wise.

Thanks fren
>what fineness is the silver, is it patrician French .950?
I don't believe so, all the beauty accessories like jewelry, purses and so on have the crabby hallmark (was a boar back then) who only guarantee a 800+ fineness, but without further details..
From my experience, it's regular .925 sterling on the majority of beauty accessories produced in France, while .950 was usually reserved to table items. So i'm gonna assume it's sterling by default.

>brighten it up by washing with dish soap to remove oils then dip it in silver jewelry/coin cleaning solution like E-Z-EST for several seconds.
That's good to know. I couldn't find the brand you advised me few months ago, so instead i ordered our local one, called Mirror, and it has been proven very effective. Before ordering one i asked my mom to give me her 40yo bottle, and the stuff was still working perfectly kek!

Silver has utility. It’s actually needed and consumed.
Utility is one of the properties that make a good money.
Gold is useless. You just hope people see it as valuable because it always has been.
Simple as.

It is what it is.
Stable money leads to deflation because people that have more start to hoard it, all the time, every time.
Unlimited credit leads to inflation, which kills debt. The older the debt, the faster it gets killed.
Fiat is not a store of value, it's an economic accelerant. The faster the fiat moves, the better for everyone.
If you want store of value, use gold.
Don't confuse fiat with store of value and everything falls into place.

In the event the GLOBE deleverages and we write off hundreds of trillions of dollars of bogus IOUs we'll see that real capital is actually quite scarce. And if capital is scarce then the cost to borrow it will be quite high. People will be desperately trying to unload their "claims" to capital in order to get in on the new economy that will follow.

Golds value doesn't come from the rarity (we havew more rare metalls that are valued less) nor how hard it is to extract, we have metals that are harder to get with less value.

It's value is entirely in it's shiny appearance, which we like. We decided it has value, and that is all it took.

in the end, it is worth something, however cheap, to someone who needs bricks. now the inflated price could add to its value but that's dependant on the buyer.
but you are ignoring gold's infinite lifespan and ability to be molded into works of art that need little upkeep and offer zero toxicity to the owner.
it does have industrial utility in high end electronics and space travel.

The premise of selling things for money isn't what is at question. It's the quality of the asset that needs to survive the deleveraging that is the interesting point of discussion. I see almost no upside potential that can counteract the downside risks of BTC that would make me want to own large amounts of it. And I do own some.

Teach them how to trade among each other using the silver you are providing (at a cost, obviously). Find out who sells food, bullets or services for silver and tell them. Things like that. Consider your silver as a catalyst to jump start your local economy. When the dollar breaks silver will be the most desirable and necessary commodity of them all. Use it, buy stuff, inject it hand over fist as you please. Keep as much as you feel necessary but your purchasing power will peak in the aftermath of the dollar collapse as people scramble to get real money and then go down as things sort themselves out. It's not you who needs the silver, it's those who don't have any but need it for trade. If you don't want to buy anything consider just exchanging it for gold, but if Weimar is any indication you probably want to slurp up some land and housing at least.

Hello, Anons. I have reviewed the price of gold and silver in Russia for the previous 2 decades and it doubles in price every 10 years. But due to government the ruble has become more than 2 times cheaper, while cryptocurrency not. Not only that, but before the collapse the elites will use cryptocurrency to move money from my country falling apart, making it rise in price once again before the crush.

I want to buy a flat in one or two years and need to save money. Is diversification the best solution or I should ignore cryptocurrency? I don't need yes/no, I want to learn why.

You're missing the point. Yes, any precious metal can be used as money. But that doesn't change the fact that banks are stacking gold. So it will remain the primary monetary metal, and your opinion isn't going to change that. But you can stack platinum despite that, if you think it's worthwhile. Personally I don't bother because I think silver and gold is enough.

That's not what irreplaceable means. This has nothing to do with opinion. Just because it's not going to happen doesn't mean there is some technical reason it can't be done like there is for silver use in solar panels (without sacrificing performance). It boils down to no one wants to do it, nothing more.

I would say that the chances that silver will be replaced by tech advances is far greater than the chances that platinum will be monetized globally. People have a tendency to underestimate how fast the market works when a certain price point for a particular resource is reached. This is why the peak oil people have utterly failed for decades with their predictions. If the price of silver goes high enough you will see it replaced in many uses and quick.

In the end it is, but you can't grasp that.
You can't understand that fiat is not a store of value.
You don't know the body of work, you don't read the science, the papers, the facts or anything that is longer than a tweet.
You feel something is wrong because you don't understand what credit or what fiat is.

In fact, you confuse feeling with thinking, because you never learned to think.

I was only talking about gold, mate. Gold doesn't have that much industrial use, so it's pointless to talk about solar panels and such.
With silver, well I dunno. Guess it depends on how much they push the tech and what the tolerances of the material end up having to be. But that doesn't concern me much. I stack silver because it's also historically a monetary metal (not that long ago, in fact).

>> No.55937849

Gold has a very high density, so there's that. If banks had to stack silver or copper instead, it would take up a lot more space.
Platinum could work, but they stack gold instead. And why would they change? They've already got gold, and it just werks.

Follow the reply chain and stop bringing up straw mans. The original point I was arguing was that there is nothing that can substitute for gold and that just isn't true. Especially as monetary metal platinum is an obvious candidate. If you ask most people they will probably put platinum above gold even if it's actually cheaper right now. Is it going to replace gold as monetary metal? No, I'm not saying that. There's too much inertia. Gold was first and it's here to stay. But there's nothing that makes gold better money than platinum other than that.

Variable water lines are a factor of an overused die was showing wear around the 50s. I can't remember how many sets of dies there were, but there are a few that were at use in the mint long enough to see several variations on the water lines get pressed into circulation.
The area to pay attention to is at the fore and aft of the canoe. You can compare the lines in the water between the island and the water line. In your pic, the 52 coin has reduced water lines. I see only one. The 62 and 63 each have three water lines, unsurprisingly. I don't remember the exact date they mostly stopped entering circulation, but I suspect it was around 1958 with the release of the death dollar comem.
