I don't follow any of the personalities, but I was aware that it was being pumped because his twitter was posted in this general, and as I mentioned in the prior post there was a PP unlock coming, which often coincides with a long bleed period. I did some research on Founders, and the historic drilling was nice, but there are plenty of companies with some nice hits that never got SP appreciation, and combined that with the PP, pump, other red flags, and I expected to either buy shares at a lower price, or simply stay away. The real problem is that gold supply is deflationary relative to the globe's exponential population growth, which is counterproductive for governments and generally unsustainable.

Obviously as an individual it makes sense to buy into these limited assets vs hoarding dollars though. Even better, buy productive limited-quantity assets: shares in real, profitable companies.
In reality, most people never accumulate anything meaningful, but by pricing these assets in an ever declining dollar, people get to feel like they're becoming wealthier, like they're making more money at their job, like they're really winning. The magic is in balancing the inflation such that the common man never sees through this fantasy. The art of the illusion is everything.

At present, there is no great answer to this problem. The dollar doesn't really solve it, as inflation is mostly a tax on the poor and foolish. Gold is also not the only asset with these properties, nor bitcoin. There is also stocks as previously mentioned - ownership over large organizations, often monopolies, often serving some geographical region that will grow over time.
Then there's land, real estate, etc. Not like anyone is printing more land.. I could go on, but I think the point is clear.

Yes, there is an unlimited amount of money at the federal reserve.
Deficit spending leads to inflation and inflation to wiping out old debt. The older the debt, the faster it gets wiped.
Credit, inflation and fiat is what keeps the economy going.
Just stop seeing fiat as a store of value and instead as an economic accelerant and it will fall into place.
The absolute amount of debt is just a number that gets meaningless in light of inflation in 20 years time.
If the economy slows, pump out credit, if inflation rises to much, reduce credit. It's a balance.

I knew the FS wasn't going to do shit short term, we knew these numbers were coming out from what the CEO implied in interviews.
There's a reason why they wanted to do the scoping study right away.
Good thing is that now this is out of the way and we have an absolute worst case scenario of 2 bil MC at 4 million tons, which is still a very conservative number.

I really like the scene that's being laid out here though.
If we go by what the CEO has been implying about taking over the markets by providing a steady local production and filling the deficit, he's eyeing a production number closer to 7-10 million tons long term, which puts the numbers on a whole another level to +50x.
Then there's the TPR which is likely going to fund this, so low risk of any kind of dilution.
On top of this Compass Minerals is increasingly focusing on lithium, which isn't going to do any wonders for the local salt production if they tone it down in that front.
And inflation is constantly going on, which is going to be pushing up salt prices by default.
The potential gets more insane the more you think about this, but the time frame is going to be 3-5 years at minimum. Quick buyout is basically off the books until they at least get the construction going.
I wouldn't even be surprised if the stock price takes a hard dive from here as everyone expecting a buyout fucks off to something with shorter time frame.

I have been a CMMG lurker and hold small junior mining stocks. I study civil engineering in northern europe but I have a chance to move to germany to do a european mining course 2 years degree (masters in science). Seems like that is the best mining/mineral university degree there is in europe. Should I go for that if exploration, mining finance and geology interest me and I want to work in emerging markets? However I don't want to become a site manager at a mine, I would like to do something with the finance and geology/exploration. Could this be a niche that could land me interesting jobs internationally and with a decent pay?

There will never not be volatility dude. Gold's ICL is behind us and even though things should be going up now they won't do it in a straight line, you can't let yourself get shaken out of things you believe in because of wiggles. Listen to based french anon and if you're in it for the junior mining dream then you should just be accumulating good picks unless they turn into bad picks.

And I say this as someone who has almost entirely abandoned individual picks and trades ETFs now, I have no idea if poo lagoon is a good pick these days or not so I'm not recommending you buy or sell anything specific because I hate them all, but unless you're actively on top of every piece of DD out there to be able to be swinging news releases and timing bottoms then my understanding is that the junior mining tactic remains the same; hold good picks and wait for metals to moon.
