I am 29 years old, make $80k, hold a masters degree but have $50k in student loans, and will never own my own home.

Take a huge loan, fake your own death, travel to Argentina, live there comfortably. Debt solved

im not even trolling you when i say that $80k is nothing these days. most people, myself included, are still stuck in pre-inflation mindset -- anchoring bias, it's called. take your salary and discount it by 25%. you make $60k. is that impressive? no.

i make $100k and i'm in the same boat. by my calculations i need to hit $140-150k to afford home ownership. it's not going to happen.

You could live well below your means for a couple years in order to pay off your debt. But the reality is that you will not do this. You will be a debt slave forever and you will complain on /biz/. You chose this grave for yourself. Enjoy. Do not reply to this post.

Same but slightly less in loans. Realizing the only real way out is to maximize my earning potential. Start job hunting and fixing your resume like your life depends on it (it does)

Well the tax brackets are still stuck in ore-inflation mindset as well. The lowest bracket should be increased by roughly $20k. Except that won't happen. Honestly I don't care how much I make and haven't cared for years. My main goal is to pay as little as possible in taxes. I am not a consumer and I trade mostly with my roth ira to avoid ever sharing a cent with the government. God hates your ritual sacrifice of blood money to the false idol America. The love of money is the worst sin because it leads you to pay a tithe to the antichrist, America.

My mindset went from compelete financial independence to early retirement to "maybe I'll own a home" after realizing my ceiling is about 90k/year.

Me and the wifey make just over 140k. Let me tell you, it's still not enough. No matter how much you make/have, we're born with the mindset to never have enough.

>$1400*12 = $16,800 for rent
>$600*12 = $7,200 for various bills
>$350*12 = $4,200 for groceries/house stuff

That's $28,200 for the year. Make it $30k/yr or even $40k/yr or whatever for whatever the fuck else you got going on. How is $100k income not enough to save for a house? Are you stupid?
