My grandpa was a municipal worker with no college degree. The house he used to live in his worth 7 figures. He retired at 65 and spent the last 25 years of his life in Florida. He sent 3 kids to college and had a better quality of life than I do.

They both worked as school lab technicians. As a stem genius myself, that task requires basically zero prior knowledge or skill. I've seen organic chemistry PhD positions being advertised at 14k (absolute fucking joke), so what does that make a high-school lab techs renumeration worth? 4k?
