It's Monday, let's have a comfy thread about TCG collecting and speculation.

What are you buying? Thoughts on the market 5-10 years from now? 2021 peak has fallen, seeing cards down 90% from COVID madness in some cases...

Personally, I am always looking to scoop WOTC-era Pokemon. And also, with Yugioh 25th anniversary nostalgia hitting, I think the OG sets will appreciate nicely. 1st edition from LOB - Pharaoh Servant should see a resurgence in price.

Also, i believe Metazoo will do well long-term. Don't know why that is such a controversial opinion but personally i love the game.

In 5-10 years: base set 1st edition worth far less than what it is currently due to death of hype and everything else is worth almost nothing.

Haha no way. I predict Base 1st edition will become the de facto chase for all Pokemon collectors, old and new. Pokemon is the biggest IP in the world. Generation after generation is getting swept into the IP - the games, the cards, the shows, etc. You're going to see multi generational fandom here, just like Disney, where grandma and grandpa and the kids alike all love Pokemon.

Yeah i could see TCG's being one of the most prominent use cases for NFTs but so far not much activity. If one of the big three ever dipped their feet in, i think we'd see some serious adoption.
