I want to take 5k of savings and invest in something that is a pretty solid investment. Already have enough risked in Cypto and was thinking of doing gold or silver. What's the pros and cons of each? And how do successfully purchase and sell when I'm ready?

If you are wanting to trade in that way then you should do ETFs. I have gold and silver i bought with bitcoin gains. I don't plan on selling unless there is a major catastrophe. You can buy and sell back to apmex or your local dealer.
