as a fresh zoomer grad out of university with a comp sci degree, my life is suffering. There is no tech jobs, and just applying for them is a fucking hell scape. Boomers and Gen X had it so fucking easy when applying to jobs its not even funny. I am so tired of being gaslighted by my boomer and Gen X relatives that say there is jobs, but you just need to apply more. As zoomers what can we do to mitigate the suffering of job applying for 100s of jobs that companies don't even bother emailing you back? If you are a lucky you get a automated email response thanking you for at least applying. Also I am white and a male so finding a job is extra hard for me.

The fact that a degree doesn't cut it these days and you have to do an internship and network is bullshit. What happens when everyone now has done an internship and networked? Everyone going to college isn't the fucking answer. They don't want to say it out loud, but many people going to college leads to oversaturation. It's unsustainable. Instead of hiring domestic people, they will hire foreign people who will accept getting paid lower because it's way more than anything they would make in their home country. Look at the STEM field. Too many people in that field and wages have stagnated. A Master's degree is the new Bachelor's degree. Companies have gotten lazy and cheap with training people. It's bullshit.
>>55893937

I will continue posting this in every college thread until the end of time, but college is useless. College loans and college degrees are a cash cow for everyone except the degree holder. You don’t even learn any useful knowledge.

I’ve had people with a fucking masters work under me 5 years into my career now who knew less than when I started and I dropped out of highschool. I self taught myself white collar work. Yes there’s some privilege involved, but in general you’re better off not having debt looming over you while you figure out how to play the game.

The reason college degrees are even a thing is that boomer wagies wanted to lower THEIR risk, they wanted their jobs to be safe and locked behind expensive walls of a college campus. The fact that college is accessible to every single domestic American through loans should give you a clue yes, as you originally talked about.

The only knowledge worth shit is not any knowledge that you can buy, certainly not in America.

Tech jobs have been oversaturated and overpaid for a while now. Also ilyoi should not go to school for learning compsci. If you can't learn it on your own by just buying a computer and using the internet you can't compete anyway. School is for idiots now. Smart people learn everything on their own using the internet . I'm sorry you got scammed
