>July 27th 8:40am EST
>the fundamentals behind the dollar falling just got crushed by ECB
>SPX 4,605
>NQ 15,728
>this is the top. the rally will not continue as the dollar reverses.
>the dollar has gotten completely crushed because investors/traders/institutions expected that other central banks would continue to aggressively raise interest rates relative to US monetary policy; that the Fed would pause, while ECB continued to hike aggressively
>this is no longer the case, after ECB release today
>in other words, all the dollar shorts are now trapped, all the euro longs are now trapped; they are forced to quickly cover or sell their positions, forcing dollar higher
>the market rallying was predicated upon DXY falling, and falling below 100 parity especially
after ECB release today, that is not going to happen - huge smashing of expectations (and the market hates when expectations are broken / the unexpected occurs)
>Unironically, this is the top
SPX 4,605 --> 4,404 20 days -4.3%
NQ 15,728 --> 14,875 -5.4%
DXY on July 27th 8:40am: 100.84 --> 103.33 +2.5%
I called the exact top within 2 points [4607 local top] within minutes. I laid it out all out there for you why in plain English. You did not listen. You never listen.
Everything else has only snowballed on top of this final straw that broke the camels back. The camel is already dead, and more weight continues to be piled on to its corpse.
>inflation surging higher
>yields surging higher
>dollar surging higher

>The July meeting was held before the release of data that showed key price measures falling this summer alongside ebbing job creation. But both the Fed staff's analysis and the views of policymakers showed a potential "soft landing" taking shape, with ongoing job gains and economic growth and some faith that inflation will continue to decline.

>While participants "stressed" the need for continued progress to become comfortable that inflation would return to the Fed's 2% target, they also "cited a number of tentative signs that inflation pressures could be abating," from slowed shelter inflation to lowered measures of inflation expectations in recent surveys.

>Cautionary voices about the effects of continued monetary tightening appeared to play a more prominent role in the debate at last month's meeting, an indication that the spread of opinion at the Fed has widened as policymakers weigh evidence that inflation is falling and judge the potential damage to jobs and economic growth if rates are raised higher than necessary.

Alright so I found some free catalyst data for a bunch of bioshits and backtested it over a 3 month window. Ignoring the ones under a dollar and making sure they had at least 100k average daily volume let me avoid most of the losers. Using my existing position management rules, it looks like it should net me about a 15% return per quarter.

The caveat here is that I used some estimates for the profit taking. For example, I let the trend run until the first peak after entry. In practice, I would be using trailing stops and might hit my stop win earlier. To account for that, I took the square root of the % return and then adjusted by the fib level 0.618. This gives me much more realistic numbers (eg a 22% return becomes 6.69%, or a 151% return becomes a 36% return). Obviously because I have a lowered amount of risk on the positions, it won't necessarily turn into huge gains, but this seems like a profitable way to swing them

I can't remember how I produced the exact values, but basically the SPY is showing the asset bubble chart if you zoom out far enough. It's not unusual for said assets to hit the 61.8 or 38.2 fib levels during their pullbacks when it happens.
I think we are on a downtrend, but it's quite likely they'll prolong it for a while. They're long-dated enough that vega should kick in if there are any deep movements, and they're quite far OTM so that puts gamma in my favor too. Basically, for like $300 a year, I can hedge my poorfolio with a 4:1 payoff if it crashes significantly.

Literally none
No - yields are going higher (bonds are going lower)
No - whole market is going down, even great companies will go down in value
>real estate
No - even larger bubble than bond bubble and stock bubble
There are some sectors that will do better, and be safeR - healthcare, utilities, consumer staples
You could also be buying rolling t-bills (9 day for example) and just be coasting in that until you want to buy - this is what I am doing, and most of the people I know are doing, just stockpiling cash to take advantage of the fire sales to come

>call top 200 times
>one of those times it's actually a local top, small correction begins
>endlessly back quote the singular successful call
Famous permabears pull the same tricks to gather thousands of followers. I'll admit, it's a pretty good strategy. Not particularly useful on an anonymous forum, however.

Buy assets with positive, sustainable real yield and you'll build wealth over time. This is all just noise. Bobos love to spread panic because their entire strategy relies on convincing suckers to sell the bottom. Similar to momentum traders trying to find the greatest fool that will bid their trash to infinity, but in reverse.
t-bills are competitive right now so I'd recommend 50% exposure, rebalancing as frequently as you desire to profit off the volatility. 6 month t-bills tend to be the best balance between profit and convenience in my experience.

Lol. Yeah. I totally called the exact point SPX and NQ top, hundreds of times before this, and then just this one stuck. You got me. It had nothing to do with the fundamentals shifting.
Look through the archives, you'll see hundreds, if not thousands of my posts calling the top with the exact point level :^)

In a sea of millions of anonymous posts in the archive, I'm sure I can pinpoint your exact posts.
If you want to do tripfag shit, maybe consider using a trip?

The peak SPY closing happened on July 31st, anyway. You were off by several days. The real selling began the moment calendars flipped over to August.

>The peak SPY closing
buddy. come on now. lmao. this is getting pathetic. I'm not talking about the close. The exact peak, the local high, was 4607 SPX. I called it at 4605, within minutes of the 4607
>yeah, well, you didn't call the top, because it wasn't the top AT CLOSE!!
You're a faggot. Lmao.

It has been established that your anonymous market timing call is irrelevant, for obvious reasons.
Noting the daily closing prices cuts the noise and helps in understanding that your rationale was also bad. There was no meaningful selling for multiple days beyond your "top" call.
As for that flawed rationale, you'll see soon enough where you went wrong in your thesis.

>> No.55860151

>It has been established
Lol. You talk like a faggot. It has been established by you, in your head, to yourself.
>Noting the daily closing prices cuts the noise
Lol. Okay. Yeah, you're totally right. I didn't call the top within 2 points, as it wasn't the highest close. The close is all that matters, intraday highs, when we broke 4600 (and topped out at 4607) doesn't matter. Again, you're a faggot.
>As for that flawed rationale, you'll see soon enough where you went wrong in your thesis.
Lol. Ok. When DXY falls back below 100, and SPX crosses back above 4605, then you can say I was wrong.
I want to say again - you're a faggot
