Learn a decent trade that specialises in some infrastructure that not anybody can just work on. I work on the electrical grid, pretty much guaranteed job security, minimal corporate bullshit, some really easy, steady days, good base salary and excellent overtime benefits. I only do 8 hour days Monday to Friday and I normally get dropped home an hour early if we're not busy. Almost feels like I'm cheating sometimes compared to friends who wageslave for less money than me.

In my opinion it's luck and persistence regardless of what gets you out the rat race, if not luck then only persistence. So there's no magic solution. Just figure out something to do that doesn't make you want to kill yourself, even in corporate level I'm sure there's plenty of roles like that which are achievable
