this is almost certainly the reason for the Mainstar DRS rugpull. Their entire market ponzi relies on having IRA/Pension funds in accounts acting as collateral for their bets.
The scam also helps pump the overall market, lets them control corporate board rooms via proxy voting, and make premiums from directing funds to controlled ETFs/mutual funds.
