Bought a lot of VMBS (agency mortgage bonds). In an IRA loaded up on 2053 maturity TIPS with a generational high of 1.95% real.

Mortgage bonds are best deal right now in markets. Market is under appreciating the foolishness of folks selling out their homes on a 3.5% mortgage and buying a new home at 7%. These prepayments are going to result in a tailwind to rates without the corresponding drop in price.

The secret to investing is that there is no secret to investing. Truly. You're just trying to figure out the best place to park your money and watch it grow. Buy stocks like you buy groceries, when you buy a jar of peanut butter at full price and next time you go to the store you notice it's half off you don't panic and try to sell your jar at home - you buy 3 jars of the stuff at a discount. That's how I feel about stooks. You can get randomly rug pulled by the stooks by entirely arbitrary amounts. Commodities at least have some degree of reason for going to the specific amounts that they tend to. The ranges can be pretty wild, but still somewhat "set", so as long as you have a grasp on the ranges then you'll have some idea of where the present price is within them. Couple that with projections and data on the macro circumstances and you have yourself something that is much more safely tradeable, relatively speaking. Of course, you must also have some essential trading sense, like knowing how much to sink in at the given levels, and how much dry powder to keep on hand for working the position as it moves around in the ranges. Anyway, stooks are some dangerous motherfuckers, man.

This is very, very true in at least an array of ways. Most obviously is the fact that we can now have essentially fully capable trading devices in our pockets wherever we go at all times. This led to one of the other major ways that I think will take a good while to more clearly demonstrate the deeper consequences of, which is the 2020 redditor trader entering the picture. Suddenly there was the mass of people putting their money (which was somewhat more ample at the time due to govt freebies) into purely speculative positions on equities for gambling purposes in an identical manner to how they do with crypto shit, with essentially zero regard for fundamentals. The "new fundamentals" became much more oriented towards the sheer number of others doing the same thing on the same equities in the pump/dump manner. But, this also led to people having nooticed previously insane valuations on particular ones and thinking that surely those equities will again return to at least some portion of those valuations. It's build a new layer of retardation on top of the fundamentals. But, at the end of the day, the more people who buy in over you once you've bought in, the more one gains (assuming selling before getting rugged) regardless of P/E and all that, so a valuation being retarded doesn't necessarily mean unprofitability in trading it. All of this (aside from the devices/access), of course, is *essentially* nothing new, just the sheer numbers of traders/invoosters, and much less barrier to entry (which also increases retardation).

I do know about natgas, but not anywhere near to the level of "natgas expert", and BOIL/KOLD/UNG ain't got shit to do with any particular natgas companies. BOIL/KOLD are 1:1 2x leveraged with the Henry Hub futures prices, so if the futures go up 1% then BOIL goes up 2% and KOLD goes down 2%, and UNG is just 1:1 so goes up or down by the same percent as the price of natgas. Try tick charts. Like, 500 ticks or lower. RSI is fine but it mostly shows "extremes" in price. I much prefer relying on trend direction and momentum. Beyond that it's just pullbacks and risk management. The crazy thing is how simple it is at the end of the day. I went through at least 2 years early on with trying all sorts of different combinations of all sorts of different indicators, both common and esoteric.

Now all I use are 2 moving averages and a momentum oscillator. That's literally all you need. The rest is risk management. Realize that if your reward is twice your risk, you can literally get half of your trades wrong and still be making bank. I feel like that's the biggest problem with plebs, they don't realize that fact. It's risk ratio vs. winrate. If trend is up and momentum is up you probably want to be finding pullbacks to go long on, you know what I mean? It sounds so common sense that I don't know why everyone doesn't do it, yet here we are.
