Fun but slightly overrated by today's standards, people seem to forget how much crime and drug addiction there was at the time nowadays. Not saying it was bad and it was a huge step up from the 70s, but I find the fact that we're entering a third decade of 80s nostalgia at this point kind of bizarre. I liked the 90s more overall.

It's probably a safe assumption that you're a male. The 80s was like being at a party with 4 other guys, they're all your friend, and besides the 5 of you there are 10 cute girls. Modern times? It's like being at a party with 9 other guys, 8 of which want to kill you or are waiting for you to make some exploitable error, and other than the 10 of you, there is 1 girl and she has AIDS. You can take this literally or interpret it more as an expandable metaphor for scarcity and the deterioration of communities and camaraderie.

I've got some LLC's and its defiantly not that easy to get credit through DUNS and no bank is going to extend a $1 million line of credit out of the gate... The 2nd dude saying they're required to give you 50k for your LLC is full of shit and buying a parking lot where anyone is going to pay you a ridiculous $35 daily rate is going to cost A LOT more than $150k. Parking lots can be quite lucrative but having the capital to buy one is crazy.

Yes, I did the same thing. DAX gives 13,5% return on CMC. On IG it is higher for reasons I don't know. A 0,5 short gives me 0,14cent on CMC and on IG it is 0,15, sometimes even 0,16 cent.

Barriers (higher leverage that you can decide by setting the knockout) can give me more, up to 40%, but most positions I have there give me 20-27% interest. Not gonna overleverage, that fucked me sometimes only to hit the barrier and then drop again.

Shorting EU is currently fine, and US the same as long as you don't pick the wrong stocks. As long as rates stay high we get paid. No worries about having to pay the broker/market maker for holding.

Started the day holding 13k in short term puts. Yolod it all into 450p 0 days with a stop loss of total 10k balance and was going to cash out. Got as low as 12.8k.

Had 229 450ps with like a .74 cost basis. I went for a walk and sold them when it went green since then I bought some marriott puts. If I held an hour longer I'd have been at 80k to 100k.

Yes, that's true. Since it's margin trading you need reserves. But 13,5% is the rate on the specific margin you use. Now, depending on how much money you have on the account to back that margin up, it's still above what banks give you which the highest are around 4%. Italy has more, but I don't want my money in italy. And even german banks with +4% are shady (Aareal which is for real estate and was recently bought by foreign investors) or Grenke (Leasing company with bank, which stock looks pretty bad).

Lmao yeah, I once got 125 Euro for holding Gasoline over the weekend. And my margin was 2,5k I think. It was +60% for buying, back in September 2022.

It has to do with the futures, if the cash and future are in contango/backwardation and how intense/steep that is.

In the case of current Lean Hogs the front month is at $80 but the continuous contract is $89, so is the +58% pa for longing the continuous contract to make up for how the continuous contract will have to go down about $9?

With continious contract I think you mean Cash (with overnight)?
When the next month is way higher than your cash you pay for longing. When the next month is lower than you current you get money for longing (like lean hogs). Because you are fighting against a trend. The future says lean hogs will be cheaper, but you still buy on Cash-contract.

That was the case with Gasoline in Sept 2022, the future price was waaaaaaaaaay lower than the Cash. With gasoline and fuel oil you can see it really good, since they have like 4-5 future months.

Here's the disclosure TDA gives you when you get flagged as a PDT.

Day Trading Margin Requirements/Pattern Day Trading Rules
A pattern day trader is any account that executes four or more round-trip trades (equities or options) in five business days. The term "day trading" means purchasing and selling or selling and purchasing the same securityon the same day in a margin account. A pattern day trading flag can only be removed one time from your account.
If activity in your account is classified as pattern day trading, you may be subject to the following restrictions:
Minimum equity requirement: A pattern day trader account must have a total account value (or equity) of $25,000 at the start of any trading day. Minimum equity consists of marginable and non-marginable positions. Mutual funds held in a cash sub-account do not apply to day trading equity.
Day trade buying power: Day trade buying power is the amount of funds the account can use to day trade intra-day under FINRA day trading rules. Day trade buying power is equal to the equity in your account at the close of business on the previous day, less requirements from a self regulatory organization (SRO), multiplied by as much as four. There are a variety of SROs, such as the New York Stock Exchange and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Day trade buying power is only displayed if your account has been flagged as a pattern day trader. Day trade buying power is calculated with the intent that it is used for day trading activities and should not be used to hold positions overnight.

>> No.55803413

>>55803407
Day trade minimum equity call: If your account has less than $25,000 equity and is identified as a pattern day-trading account, a day-trading minimum equity call will be issued. Pattern day-trader accounts that fall below the $25,000 minimum equity requirement should not day trade. If you execute a day trade when the equity is below $25,000, your account will be restricted to only closing transactions until the day trading equity is brought up to $25,000. Be sure that any deposit made to bring the equity above $25,000 is in the account one business day before you resume day trading.
Day trade buying power call: When an account exceeds the day trade buying power at any time throughout the day, a day trade buying power call may be issued. Once a day trade buying power call is issued, the day-trading buying power is restricted to 2x SRO calculations for five business days. If the day trade buying power call is not met within five business days, the account will be restricted to trading only long positions on a cash-available basis for 90 days, or until the call is met. Multiple day trade buying power calls will result in a cash restriction, no matter when the day trade buying power calls are due. No forcible sell-out will result from a day trade buying power call. Day trade buying power calls can only be met by depositing cash or fully paid securities, by selling non-marginable securities (in the account before the call was issued), or following the 90-day cash restriction.

In the short term, volatility would probably increase somewhat. But more than anything, brokerages and banks actually want retail to save money in their account. It hurts banks and brokerages to not have clients with capital that they can use for their own investing/lending. And retail is objectively bad at investing, so they are bound to lose money, possibly even all of it. Happens all the time.

Day trading (as in what legally qualifies) is retarded. If you see pretty much any arbitrage you can execute on it over a few days even if you have to be precise about the timing opening/closing the position. There's no reason to be fucking around with something half a dozen times a week.
