Yes, I did the same thing. DAX gives 13,5% return on CMC. On IG it is higher for reasons I don't know. A 0,5 short gives me 0,14cent on CMC and on IG it is 0,15, sometimes even 0,16 cent.

Barriers (higher leverage that you can decide by setting the knockout) can give me more, up to 40%, but most positions I have there give me 20-27% interest. Not gonna overleverage, that fucked me sometimes only to hit the barrier and then drop again.

Shorting EU is currently fine, and US the same as long as you don't pick the wrong stocks. As long as rates stay high we get paid. No worries about having to pay the broker/market maker for holding.

Started the day holding 13k in short term puts. Yolod it all into 450p 0 days with a stop loss of total 10k balance and was going to cash out. Got as low as 12.8k.

Had 229 450ps with like a .74 cost basis. I went for a walk and sold them when it went green since then I bought some marriott puts. If I held an hour longer I'd have been at 80k to 100k.

Yes, that's true. Since it's margin trading you need reserves. But 13,5% is the rate on the specific margin you use. Now, depending on how much money you have on the account to back that margin up, it's still above what banks give you which the highest are around 4%. Italy has more, but I don't want my money in italy. And even german banks with +4% are shady (Aareal which is for real estate and was recently bought by foreign investors) or Grenke (Leasing company with bank, which stock looks pretty bad).

Lmao yeah, I once got 125 Euro for holding Gasoline over the weekend. And my margin was 2,5k I think. It was +60% for buying, back in September 2022.

When the next month is way higher than your cash you pay for longing. When the next month is lower than you current you get money for longing (like lean hogs). Because you are fighting against a trend. The future says lean hogs will be cheaper, but you still buy on Cash-contract.

That was the case with Gasoline in Sept 2022, the future price was waaaaaaaaaay lower than the Cash. With gasoline and fuel oil you can see it really good, since they have like 4-5 future months.

In the short term, volatility would probably increase somewhat. But more than anything, brokerages and banks actually want retail to save money in their account. It hurts banks and brokerages to not have clients with capital that they can use for their own investing/lending.
