Do I need a credit union if I have had no problem with my banks?

How can i tell apart a good vs bad credit union?
What's the difference between a federal and regular credit union?

Credit unions are based. I would go with a larger credit union as they will typically have better technology and services. The charter type does not matter for you as a customer.

Large credit unions can have state charters. If you are curious about the size of a credit union you can pull the financials from the NCUA website.
