I'm seriously considering selling everything tomorrow, we have hit resistance multiple times and I started noticing that people are treating bad news as actually bad news and the market is not pumping with retarded optimism like it did before.

Houses and cars are also coming down in price I noticed, I think its time to be rational again, and the rational move is to get the fuck out of risky equities at their peak value.

What do you guys think? Talk me down, otherwise I'm going to liquidate my 200k portfolio tomorrow and lock in a 30% YTD gain

I'm serious, don't ignore this post.

If we stick to normal trends, we’ll get a crash after Labor Day into Thanksgiving. Then we should have a mini Santa rally before we continue dumping into late Q2 next year. Then when enough companies are dead and inflation is back to 2%ish, we can start the next bull market. There’s also the issue of the rest of the world having bigger problems than the US with no easy ways to solve it. How many rate hikes until Powell obliterates Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy, or even China because of the lack of US dollars available for them to trade?

If you have balls and are also lazy, find a stock where 100 shares is 1/5th of your account and keep writing cash secured puts as it dips. So let's say you had $10,000 you would find a $20 stock and sell the ATM put with a 2000 max loss, then as it goes down the 17 and 14 and so on.
Depending on your confidence in the stock and how volatile it is there's different paths you can take depending on how aggressive you want to be.
>20+19+18+17+16
>20+18+16+14+12+10+8
>some other combo, the wider the strikes the more cash you'll have it it dips harder
When assigned shares you flip to selling calls or sell the shares at breakeven (unless you're really bullish), and you have a choice of splitting it in 100 shares individually or as an average price. Let's say you got assigned at 20, 18, and 16. You have 300 shares with an 18 average. If it's at 16 right now, you could just ease out 100 shares at 16 then 18 then 20. Or you could do them all at 18.

Obviously there's a lot to consider here. There's a chance that the stock you like will go to 0 so that's a risk. Depending on the risk level of the stock your % return will vary, so for some stocks it's kind of mediocre. Ideally you'll have big balls and run the strat on some unicorn company that has high IV yet is also a good company or at least isn't going to collapse. In this ideal case the actual volatility would be a nothingburger but you collected the premium for high volatility.
The main conundrum is managing the strategy appropriately, there's too much variability in what could happen. If you're too aggressive you end up using all your cash selling puts before the real dip, not aggressive enough it will crab or go up and you could have made way more being bold. Or you could always just stick to the DCA plan.
The gist of it is to stay close to some strike so you can either sell calls or puts and keep the money flowing in every month, how close you need to be depends on the IV of the ticker.

We're talking about comparative performance, BRK.B outperforming/underperforming the market is basically noise. You can claim there's a mild long term uptrend but it's dwarfed by the ups and downs, so looking from the end of 2021 to the previous few years you wouldn't have felt like BRK.B outperformed.
