How many of you faggits work alternative schedules? I want to work an 80/9 shift to get alternating fridays off.

I have a 2 on 2 off schedule. So I work Monday and Tuesday (12 hours each day), off for 2 days, then work Friday (12 hours), Saturday (10 hours), Sunday (7 hours). Then it alternates for the next week. I average 38.5 hours for each week but get paid like it's 40 hours.

theres a 24 hours in 2 days weekend shift available heer. 2 days of work 5 days of free time. and the 2 days 12 hours count as full time work (same pay and benifits as 5x8 hours)

I've gotten used to it. The plus side is having 3 or 4 days off each week. I use that extra time off to pursue my side hustles and work a second job 3-4 times a month.

OP, I work the schedule you seek. Because of this, tomorrow is my "Friday," which is pretty nice. But having one less hour per day to myself makes the other 9 days a bit shittier, since my commute is almost an hour. Between gym and cooking and chores, there is not much free time those days. On balance I'd say it's worth it though. We moved to this schedule a year ago from 5-40

I just feel like I'd rather have a free friday than an extra hour each day. If my day is already fucked because of work, I can sacrifice an extra hour monday through thursday (the no fun days) to have regular fridays or an extra day off. I thought about 4 tens, but ten hour shifts back to back are pretty rough on the brain. I think in your case it sucks a bit harder though, since you have an hour-long commute. Mine only takes 45 minutes total per day, so it's significantly easier to swallow.

Yeah your commute would help balance the 9/80 for sure. Luckily I get to work from home every now and again which also helps. The Friday is sick, you can get all of your weekend stuff out of the way by the afternoon and then have absolutely nothing but freedom ahead for the next 2.5 days

I can do the schedule on discretion, but my company kinda wants us to be there 5 days a week. It sucks a little bit when I leave late, but 8-5:30 and back by dinner is really not bad knowing I have an extra day off the next week. Appointments also become easy as fuck because you can schedule them on that friday. I really would dig that wfh sometimes, but aerospace is still a bit behind the times
